Ashes of Angel by Michele Hauf is a very tantalizing read. The storyline was highly original and imaginative, and I like how the forbidden love theme being played throughout the entire story.

If you’re a fan of paranormal romance, then this is definitely your thing, but be forewarned, the book is pretty much on the darker side and if you’re the kind do not like badass of a fallen angel, then you should stay away from this book.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book from Harlequin via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review for this book.

This is one vampire story that is definitely not for the underage teenagers. This book have a lot of vampire sex in it. Lotsa and lotsa em, so if you’re a minor, please stay away from this book.

I picked up this book not expecting that there’s hot, rampant sex going on at some point in the book, but I was pleasantly surprised that there’s hanky panky going on in there.

Despite of the sex scenes, this book was wonderfully written and not trashy in any way. The storyline was amazing and I somehow enjoyed the politics of it.

Overall, a good, steamy read that will satiate any bloodthirsty or sex-thirsty readers for that matter.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book from Harlequin publisher via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review for this book.

I was intrigued by the book cover when I picked up this book from Netgalley. The book cover looks very mysterious and looks promising, and yes, the book is mysterious and very well written.

I was amazed with the author’s knowledge and creativity in putting mythology and biblical theme together, and like many good fantasy stories, this book is fast-paced and full of action.

I enjoyed reading this book very much, and definitely wouldn’t mind reading it again some time in the future. Suitable for those who love fantasy and paranormal stories.

The Iron Knight

Title: The Iron Knight

SubTitle:Book 4 in the Iron Fey Series

Publisher:Harlequin

Imprint:HarlequinTEEN

Pub Date: 25 October 2011

ISBN: 9780373210367

Author: Julie Kagawa

The Iron Knight is the final installment of the Iron Fey series. A series that I had a pleasure to read a couple of month before the release of Iron Knight. Truth be told, I was rather reluctant to start reading the Iron Fey Series as it’s written in the character’s point of view, a style of writing that I always have difficulties to grasps. I am not usually comfortable reading that sort point of view, but the Iron Fey series is so amazing and incredible that I can easily overlook the issue.

I’ve been anxiously anticipating the release of The Iron Knight for quite some time now, and so when I saw it’s available as an ARC in Netgalley, I couldn’t help but request it despite the fact that I still have a lot of pending reviews.

The Iron Knight does not disappoint. It’s all I can ask for in a fantasy. It’s romantic, unpredictable and not to mention, rather bittersweet. Unlike it’s predecessors, The Iron Knight have a wonderful ending, and provides a closure for the main character, Megan and Ash. I was really satisfied, though I wish that the author indulges us more with the ending.

Reading Iron Knight makes me think alot. It makes me wonder how far we should go to keep a promise that we made to our loved ones? And I wonder how far we should go in sacrificing ourselves for the love of our lives? This book makes me feel that sometimes, things can change so much that we fail to recognize the fact that even friends can be the most dangerous enemy.

Nevertheless, the Iron Knight is a wonderful read. Definitely a keeper for fantasy lovers. I feel rather melancholic by the time I finished reading. I feel as if I’m saying goodbye to my best friends. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, and while this book can be read as a standalone, I suggest the readers to read the other books in this series to gain more understanding on the characters’ decisions and whatnot.

I received an ARC of this book from Harlequin publisher via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review for this book, and I was not compensated in any ways for writing this review.

Book description:

Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her
irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can  survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

My husband was positively flabbergasted when he saw this inside one of my ‘pornography’ reading list. Gosh, what wouldn’t I give to see him blush and flustered like that again? I’d give anything just to see that again. I love it when he’s surprised like that and looked at me as if he’s discovered something new and absolutely wicked about me.

Anyway… enough with my amusement… LOL. I can assure you it won’t be my last. Now, without further ado, allow me to proceed with the review of this book.

Again…this book is not pornography book where Playboy bunnies prance around in their skimpy outfit. No. This is not that sort of book. This, ladies and gentleman, is a self-help book that teaches you the art of pleasuring yourself, and your other half. It teaches you to slow down a little bit where bedroom matters are concern and teaches you how to prolong pleasure and connect yourself not only physically, but emotionally with your partner.

This book is a very good self-help book. Every couple who wishes for a much more satisfying sex life should read this book. I assure you you’d learn a few things to put your sheets on fire a little bit.

I rate this book 5 stars. Intensely pleasurable and educational read. 😀 I received an ARC of this book from Grand Central Publishing via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review for this book and I was not compensated in any ways for this.

Cheat on Your Husband

Title: Cheat on Your Husband (with Your Husband)

SubTitle: How to Date Your Spouse

Publisher: Rodale

Pub Date:13 September 2011

ISBN: 9781609611095

Author: Andrea Syrtash

Now, my husband caught me reading this book the other day and he was rather flustered. *GRINZ* At first glance, it seems that I’ve been reading a book that teaches me the art of cheating and infidelity, but truthfully, it is not. This book does not teach me how to cheat on my husband. Quite contrary, I must say.

This is a motivational book that teaches you how to reinvent passion between you and your spouse. Admit it, most of us feel as if things has indeed become mundane after being in a marriage for quite some time, and more often than not, we took our other half for granted.

This is a very good motivational/self-help book. Though the content is not anything new, and I’m mostly familiar with most of the case study, I find that I could learn a few tricks to make my relationship with my husband much more exciting than it is now.

My only complain about this book is that it is rather repetitive. I get alot of points that it’s trying to convey, considering that I’ve been married for almost a decade… I wish the author does not try to emphasize too much on how things gets mundane and we need to fix that. I know that.

Overall, a very educational read, and I highly recommend this to all married couple who feels that they need to do something to renew the passion and love in their marriage.

Despite of it’s flaw and repetitiveness where case studies are concerned, I rate this book 5 stars, simply because it helps me understand more about my relationship with my husband, and it helps me appreciate him more and see him as my lover instead of just the father to my child.

I received an ARC of this book from Rodale Publisher via Negatlley. I was not compensated in any ways for writing this review.

Soul Survivor by Misty Evans is a wonderfully written adult fantasy with paranormal element in it. I find myself enjoying it immensely though the beginning really did get on my nerves.

Ohhhhh! Wow! This is a very, very hot and sexy read. Sure, there’s a lot of bumps along the way in ‘Learning Curves’, but boy, this book is intriguing and absolutely fascinating as it moves along. This is my kind of book. Lesson learned, indefinitely.

Storyline was fast, original, and sexy to boot apart from being very emotional and educational. I was looking for something different than those betrayal and horrifying backstabber friends, and so I must say that this one’s a very refreshing piece for me.
