Tangled Past

Title: Tangled Past

Publisher: Carina Press

Pub Date:13 June 2011

ISBN: 9781426891687

Author: Braemel, Leah

‘Tangled Past’ by Leah Braemel is a very odd erotica. Well, maybe it is not odd, considering it’s an erotica. Maybe I’m not just familiar with a threesome or a few way sexual relationship.

Anyway… as I said, it’s an erotica and you can expect all sort of explicit scenes in it. It’s steamy and hot enough to burn. But one thing that I admired is that the main character of this story, is that Sarah is a very strong character in her own right. She did not feel sorry for the decisions that she made and instead of getting people to sympathize with her…unfortunate condition, she finds a proactive solution instead; something that I think alot of people should learn.

I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book from Carina Press via Netgalley.

ISBN: 9781426891489

Author: Kelly Boyce

I was expecting a Regency romance when I requested this book for review from Netgalley, but I was pleasantly surprised that this is no Regency romance book, but a Western romance book. I enjoyed the plot and the subplot of this book, and while the story starts did not catch my attention in the beginning, I began to grow to like it as I slip the pages.

Not a bad book to read on a lazy Sunday. Highly recommended to those who loves ‘incognito’, forbidden romance as well as dual identity kind of story.

If I were to rate this book, i’d give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

ISBN: 9781426891519

Author: Marie Harte

Journeyman’s Ride by Marie Harte, is an erotica, and like most erotica, it’s filled with sexy, imaginative sex scenes, but what I like about this book is that it’s not entirely plotless and most of the scenes are tastefully done. The book is a novella length, short, but enough to keep you satisfied.

I enjoyed this book very much and I hope there’s more to come from Marie Harte.

Book description:

A journeyman’s life doesn’t lend itself to commitment, but if they can rescue the princess and make it out of the Plains without getting zapped or eaten, Danner might have to make an exception for one amazing woman. Tender Loving Care

Title: Tender Loving Care

Publisher: Carina Press

Pub Date:18th April 2011

ISBN: 9781426891472

Author: Jennifer Greene

A yet another contemporary romance by Jennifer Greene, and as always, I enjoyed reading her book. This time, in Tender Loving Care, there’s load of surprises, plenty of sweet romance and a lot of hidden messages. One of the most obvious message that Ms. Green’s trying to send across this time is that learning to love wholeheartedly without fear.

You see, the heroine of this story fought against falling in love though she knew that her heart practically belongs to the main male character in this story. She’s afraid of getting hurt and emotionally involved with him, and I couldn’t help but smile when the hero, Rafe breaks through the walls that she build around her heart almost faster than she could build it.

Tender Loving Care is a sweet, romantic story that will guarantee you warmth even on the coldest day. I enjoyed it very much, and I rate this book 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Book description:

When tragedy strikes, Zoe Anderson finds herself in the one role she never expected to have: mother. Sharing guardianship of four-year-old twins with sexy Rafe Kirkland is a responsibility she simply cannot accept. Rafe is just going to have to take care of the boys himself.

Rafe’s not prepared to be a single parent either, but deserting the children is not an option-and he’s never been as attracted to a woman as he is to their godmother. He proposes a solution: Zoe and the boys will move in with him, at least until other arrangements can be made. Or until he can convince her to make their temporary family permanent.

Zoe reluctantly agrees to the plan, but even after she loses her heart to the twins, she can’t possibly take that emotional risk with Rafe…

A Marriage of Inconvenience

Title: A Marriage of Inconvenience

Publisher: Carina Press

Pub Date:11th April 2011

ISBN: 9781426891465

Author: Susanna Fraser

I was not quite sure how to feel about this book, A Marriage of Inconvenience by Susanna Fraser. Somehow, it is not your typical happily ever after Regency romance where everything actually turns out well in the end. (Okay, okay… I’m biased! The lady didn’t ended up with the guy that I liked in the story… so I’m sulking over here!)

While I enjoyed the sizzling hot romance (there’s mild bondage… and kinky stuff in this book) between the main character and her lover, I definitely do not enjoy the relationship that heroine had with her husband. Sounds confusing? Well, let’s just say that this book is somehow about a love triangle and an unfulfilled love. I absolutely detest the ending… I was hoping for a better ending for the main character, but I didn’t get that. My only consolation that this book is just a prequel, and that means, somehow, someway, the heroine WILL somehow find her happiness and be freed from the clutches of her bloody husband.

Honestly, I can’t say I hate this book. In fact, it was so wonderfully written that I could actually feel for the character, especially the main protagonist, Anna. I could feel the overwhelming emotion that she was feeling through this book, and I could feel her need to be free… it’s just that I was not happy with the ending, that’s all.

If I were to rate this book, I’d give it a 4 out of 5 star. I enjoyed the book though I detest the ending.

Collision Course

Author: Zoe Archer

As of late, I’m quite into action packed stories… stories or wars, stories of tormented souls and desperation, for during the time of uncertainties, there’s always good, intense love stories to tell.

I was immensely pleased with Collision Course… what more can I ask for in an action packed fantasy? Collision Course have everything I wanted in a sci-fi romance fiction. Rebellious, free-spirited heroine who also happens to be a galactic siren in her own way… confused but virile ace pilot as a hero with issues of his own…and notorious criminals hunting the protagonists down.

I definitely wouldn’t mind reading Collision Course again and again. I simply couldn’t get enough adrenaline and endorphine that practically oozed out of this book.

Kudos to Zoe Archer for such a wonderful book. The book is absolutely engaging and I can hardly put it down.  I rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Author: Jennifer Greene

I used to hate contemporary romance. I find it rather boring and too much to digest, but thank God Jennifer Greene makes it simple bearable. Like most of her contemporary fictions, Kisses from Heaven is not only just tolerable, but believable as well.

Ms. Greene did a wonderful job in developing the plot, the characters as well as the conflict. I couldn’t help but feel drawn to the problems her characters are having, as it’s really close to home.

Unlike regular romance, contemporary romance fiction characters usually struggles with a lot of issues that will make you think a lot, and Kisses From Heaven is no different in that aspect.

I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the rest of her books, and if I were to rate this book, I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Courting Disaster by Carol Stephenson is a suspense thriller, and it’s definitely something that I will read on any normal, boring day. The story starts kind of slow for me, but the pace picks up soon after and I found myself really hooked to the book as the plot thickens.

Courting Disaster will definitely give its’ readers one hell of a roller coaster ride and adrenaline rush. It’s a book that I truly have pleasure reading.

The story was well written, not draggy and if you’re a fan of strong women who could stand for themselves, then this book is for you.

Love time traveling? Can’t get enough of hot, sexy pirates with a knack of getting themselves into trouble? Well then you might want to give The Twisted Tale of Stormy Gale by Christine Bell a try.

The Twisted Tale of Stormy Gale by Christine Bell tells the tale of a young female pirate who travels through time. The story is highly original and is guaranteed to give you a shot of adrenaline rush each time you flip through the pages.

Overall, The Twisted Tale of Stormy Gale is a fantastic, breathtaking read. The only downside of this book is that it is too short for my liking. The length is half of those regular novels I usually hooked myself with.

It is a misfortune for me that the story had to ended so fast cuz I can’t get enough of The Twisted Tale of Stormy Gale.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended to those who loves sci-fi adventure kind of stories.

If the technology falls into the wrong hands, it could change the world as we know it. The notorious Duke of Leister definitely qualifies as the wrong hands. I think I mentioned it before. I never was a contemporary romance book lover until I discovered Jennifer Greene’s existence. She made me want to read more of that genre, simply because she proved to me that contemporary romance can be much more satisfying than the regular romance genre.

As usual, Ms. Greene did not disappoint, and I find myself enjoying a yet another one of her book, Pink Satin. And like most of her books, I could easily relate with her characters and the reality inside of the book in question.

Pink Satin is a heartwarming and romantic tale, and is an easy read. Apart from that, Pink Satin is also very inspiring, witty and very close to reality. The storyline does not exaggerate and the characters development was well done. I enjoyed reading Pink Satin very much, and it’s going to be added into the ‘to be read again’ book list.

It’s clear Ryan isn’t interested in Greer for her chicken soup. He’s not falling for her girl-next-door routine either, no matter how hard she tries to deny their chemistry. He knows there’s a passionate woman behind the facade-and he knows just how to awaken her…
