Bestseller book of all time- Holy Bible

Did you know that ‘Bible’ is a word derived from the Greek ‘biblia’ which literally means ‘The Books’? Yes… it means ‘The Books’. Notice that the word is in plural form, not singular, and this is applicable to Holy Bible itself, because the The Holy Bible itself is a compilation of ‘books’ and letters as well as scriptures.

The Christian Holy Bible is divided into two parts.

The first portion of the book is called the Old Testament, containing the 39 books of Hebrew Scripture, and the second portion is called the New Testament, containing a set of 27 books.

During the three centuries following the establishment of Christianity in the 1st century, Church Fathers compiled Gospel accounts and letters of apostles into a Christian Bible which became known as the New Testament.

The Old and New Testaments together are commonly referred to as “The Holy Bible”.

God gives us bible as guidance…. and a way of life. Devout Christians ought to let their children read bible and tell them biblical stories when they’re still young. There are many stories in the bible… like the creation of the world, the creation of Adam and Eve as well as the well famed Noah Ark. There’s so many things one could learn from the bible. unfortunately, children are pretty much visual creature, and more often than not, they would like to ‘see’ what happened in the bible, And the problem with most Holy Bible is that it’s pictureless, and little children would lost interest in learning about bible easily.

Now, with “Big Red” Holy Bible – Contemporary 3-D Art published by Thomas Nelson Publisher, children can enjoy reading bible as the stories in the bible came to life through the contemporary 3D art.

“Big Red” Holy Bible – Contemporary 3-D Art is a full-text of the International Children’s Bible translation with bright red cover and contemporary art. this bible is printed especially for children ages 6 to 12. “Big Red” has been updated with an all new collection of beautiful full color pages, illustrating treasured Bible stories, making learning bible and instilling interest in bibles on your children more fun and easy instead of dull and boring.

How do I rate this bible? Hey, it’s a bible. I’d rate this one 5 stars, of course, and would I recommend this? Of course I would. I would recommend this bible to not only children, but parents as well. This bible is perfect for any Christian family, and if you manage to get your hands on this, don’t be surprise if you found your kids reading them like reading their regular story books or novels. Thumbs up for this Bible.

Pursuit of Justice

I just received this book from Tyndale House Publishers for an advance reading as part of their bloggers review program . I was not required to write a positive review and therefore, the book review is 100% my own opinion.

I was really excited to receive my first free book from Tyndale House Publishers, and therefore, I devoured the book in question quickly as soon as I received it.

Pursuit of Justice by DiAnn Mills is about Bella Jordan. She’s a Special Agent and is assigned to investigate a series of murders in West Texas that are linked to the Spider Rock Treasure.

The FBI authorities are confident that since she spent the first fifteen years of her life in West Texas, she can get the job done. What the FBI doesn’t know is that they don’t know is that one of their prime suspects, a man who’s been on their wanted list for years is deeply connected to Bella’s past.

There’s also another primes suspect in the FBI’s list. Carr Sullivan, the wealthy man whose ranch is the crime of scene. Carr Sullivan… while a wealthy man, is also a man with a dark past, and as Bella investigated and gets involved deeper in the case, she was threatened and another murder happened. This makes Bella think that she knows the murderer and the murderer is not working alone.

Pursuit of Justice is a delicious suspense thriller, and the readers will be hurled into the world of Bella where there’s constant running for evidence to catch the suspect before the suspect catches her and kill her. This is a book of not only mystery, but it’s also action packed and will leave you breathless, wanting for more.

So, is this book good? Oh yes, definitely a good book. DiAnn Mills really delivers the blow and does not disappoint. The book is definitely engaging, and will give you adrenaline rush.

I rate this book, 4 stars out of 5. I thought the cover ought to be given a more thrilling improvement. Content wise, though… the book is really exhilarating and I recommend this book to all avid suspense reader.

Immanuel’s Veins

Scheduled Entry

Immanuel’s Veins by Ted Dekker is a story of good versus evil. Sin versus redemption. It is a story of lust and seduction. Of sacrifice. It is a story of dark tale that is created to lead you back into the light.

Immanuel’s Veins by Ted Dekker is about This is a fantasy novel set in the historical time around late 18th century eastern Europe Tells the tale of the hero, Toma Nicolescu and his side kick, Alec Cardei. Both of them were ordered by the Queen to protect the Cantemir family.

This is where the beginning to a very dark story started. The two sisters who are under their charge, Natasha and Lucine, are very beautiful. They are the creature of seduction and lust. Any man who set their eyes upon them will be drown into the pool of unknown.

The protagonists are not excluded from being captivated by the beauties. But the time is not right for all of those emotions…love would be equaled to lusts and terrible seduction.

This is a dark tale. It tells of blood spills and ultimate sacrifices. While this story is for everyone, not everyone is for this story.

I rarely give 5 star to most books that I reviewed, but I give 5 stars to Immanuel’s Veins by Ted Dekker for both the inner and outer beauty of the book.

The book is a hardcover book with a hard story to tell. The pages are made from coarse, thick papers with uneven edges that resembles of those ancient parchments, and the book will definitely transport you back in time without fail.

I would recommend this dangerous read to anyone who is a hardcore fantasy lovers who would like to be thrown into the world of lust, seduction, blood, sacrifices and also redemption. A word of warning: It might be hard to put down.

Thumbs up for Immanuel’s Veins.

Outlive Your Life- You Were Made to Make A Difference

First of all. I’d like to say that I like Superman. When I first saw the book cover, I thought of Superman. You know…the cover shows a boy wearing a beach towel as a cape with his hand up, looking as if he’s going to fly.

This book, is not about Superman. But the book is no less amazing than Superman’s story.

This is an inspirational book that inspire you to be yourself and outlive your life here on Earth to make a difference to everyone around you and the world itself. We are created by God to do great works and this book is about that, encouraging you to do good deeds in God’s name and reminding you that each and everyone of us have our own purpose and our unique path of life.

Some of us may feel small and inferior. But in truth, none of us are inferior to the rest in God’s eyes. We may forget that each time we encounter hardship in life and when we see others are more successful than us, and this book reminded us that each and everyone of us are special, and were created to make a difference.

I recommend this book to those who feel lost and in need of a serious soul searching and uplifting encouragements.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. Perfect for book clubs and permanent library.

Come and Get Me

Okay, I admit, I’m feeling a little bit naughty, and up for a little bit of a naughty read, and therefore, I picked this up from my ebook collection and read it. Come and Get Me by Alyssa Brooks. I’ve downloaded this ARC document not long ago, but I couldn’t find time to review it. The cover is rather provocative, and somehow, it slipped my mind as I wandered off to the genre of fantasy. So, here goes:

Just as preparations for her wedding are getting underway, Sadie begins to get cold feet. Although she truly loves her fiance, Dylan, she doesn’t think she’s ready for marriage. All of her fears hit home when she begins to have erotic dreams…of another man! One evening, the panic really sets in and she gets up, packs her things and leaves, daring Dylan to come and get her.

Even with the picture clues that Sadie leaves, it’s difficult for Dylan to drop everything and chase after her. Yet, he knows she’s the one for him and he’ll do whatever is necessary to keep her, even break out of his own sexual repressions to truly seduce her. But will it be enough?

Come and Get Me is a story of one woman whose fears become more than she can handle. Although I enjoyed the growth that both Sadie and Dylan experienced, Sadie’s means of expressing her fear was very childish and selfish. Instead of talking about what disturbed her, she blamed others for the choices she made and then ran from those decisions instead of talking to the man she supposedly loved so much. Dylan had his own issues and Sadie’s dare actually allows him the chance to explore his true wants and needs. Eventually they both realize and discover what they want in their relationship.

Come and Get Me is a fast-paced, sex-filled story that shows the way two people learn to handle their fears, both as individuals and as a couple. Come and Get Me showcases the many feelings that these two characters feel and will keep the reader’s interest from beginning to end, even if only to discover what Sadie will do next and the lengths Dylan will go to in order to rein in his runaway lover.

Is this book a good read? Well… it’s jaw-dropping and sensual. I shall not say more. Want a browsing pdf copy? You know where to find me. Email me at cleffairy@gmail.com for it.

Cleffairy: Oh, yes, this is an open challenge. 😛 Come and get me if you can.

The Boy Who Changed The World

I was pleasantly surprised when I received The Boy Who Changed The World by Andy Andrews. It came in a huge box. I really didn’t expect that, and it really brightens my day.

The Boy Who Changed The World by Andy Andrews is a beautifully illustrated children book about a boy called Norman. Norman is a very special boy. He have a very generous heart, and all he want is to feed people who are hungry and on the verge of starvation.

But Norman couldn’t feed people who are hungry out there without the help of the adults, and other people who are in power. He needs help to accomplish his dreams-to feed people who are hungry.

This book is a very special book that you can read to your children during bed time stories. Instead of just having the happily ever after like those you get in fairy tales, The Boy Who Changed The World teaches moral to your children. It teaches your children that there’s hunger and starvation out there, and we ought to be thankful for what we have on our dining table every day.

The Boy Who Changed The World teaches children that every single thing that we do for goodness sake matters.

The Boy Who Changed The World is a wonderful tale that tells your children that everything…. every single thing that you do could effect the things around you, and therefore, it is important for everyone to do good.

The Boy Who Changed The World is a very engaging, unconventional children’s tale. A very good book for bedtime story and a bonding session between parents and children.

Do I recommend this book? Definitely yes, if you have children and would like to teach them moral and influence them to do goodness indirectly. And this book too… tells your children that they matters and they are important, and it doesn’t matter if they are young and small.

I rate this book 4 stars out of 5. Thumbs up. Very inspirational and motivating.

The Butterfly Effect

The Butterfly Effect is my second gift book from Booksneeze, and I have to say that I’m impressed with the glossy illustration for this book.

Initially, The Butterfly Effect is ametaphor that encapsulates the concept of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory; namely that small differences in the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system.

Although this may appear to be an esoteric and unusual behavior, it is exhibited by very simple systems: for example, a ball placed at the crest of a hill might roll into any of several valleys depending on slight differences in initial position.

The butterfly effect is a common trope in fiction when presenting scenarios involving time travel and with “what if” scenarios where one storyline diverges at the moment of a seemingly minor event resulting in two significantly different outcomes.

However, The Butterfly Effect by Andy Andrews is about about a decision one man made over a hundred years ago, and the ‘echo’ effect it’s had on each and every one of individually today.

It’s a story that will inspire courage and wisdom in the decisions we make, as well as affect the way we treat others through our lifetime.

A very motivational read. However… the examples from the books are purely American stories. I find it rather hard to relate to it considering I am not one, and I am not familiar with American histories.

Do I recommend this book to others? Well… I do, but I don’t think everyone could relate to the story if they are not born and bred in America.

I rate this book, 3 star out of 5, excellent gift for your American friends.

Inkworld Trilogy

Whoever said adults could not indulge the children within them by reading children fantasy books? I do that pretty often, and I learned more from those children books than adult books.

Last weekend, I managed to finish the Inkworld Trilogy (ebook version, though) and I feel completely sated and refreshed. The child in me was ‘well fed’.

The books… are pretty much like The Neverending story… with huge twists, cha cha and samba.

Book 1 – Inkheart
One cruel night, Meggie’s father reads aloud from a book called INKHEART– and an evil ruler escapes the boundaries of fiction and lands in their living room. Suddenly, Meggie is smack in the middle of the kind of adventure she has only read about in books. Meggie must learn to harness the magic that has conjured this nightmare. For only she can change the course of the story that has changed her life forever. This is INKHEART–a timeless tale about books, about imagination, about life. Dare to read it aloud.

Book 2 – Inkspell
Although a year has passed, not a day goes by without Meggie thinking of Inkheart, the book whose characters came to life – and changed her life forever.

But for Dustfinger, the fire-eater brought into being from words, the need to return to the original tale has become desperate. When he finds a crooked storyteller with the magical ability to read him back, Dustfinger leaves behind his young apprentice Farid and plunges into the medieval inkscape once more.

Distraught, Farid goes in search of Meggie, and before long both are caught inside the book, too. There they meet Inkheart’s author, Fenoglio, now living within his own story. But the tale is much changed, and threatening to evolve in ways none of them would have ever imagined. Will Meggie, Farid, and Fenoglio manage to write the wrongs of a charmed world? Or is their story on the brink of a very bad ending?

Book 3 – Inkdeath

The Adderhead–his immortality bound in a book by Meggie’s father, Mo–has ordered his henchmen to plunder the villages. The peasants’ only defense is a band of outlaws led by the Bluejay–Mo’s fictitious double, whose identity he has reluctantly adopted. But the Book of Immortality is unraveling, and the Adderhead again fears the White Women of Death. To bring the renegade Bluejay back to repair the book, the Adderhead kidnaps all the children in the kingdom, dooming them to slavery in his silver mines unless Mo surrends. First Dustfinger, now Mo: Can anyone save this cursed story?

Now… my say:

I would give the trilogy 5 stars as a whole. I wish the final volume had been tightened a little. The plot threads come together well in this fast paced conclusion of an outstanding fantasy series.

Beware, the books will capture you, and brings you into a world full of surprises.

I must admit, I can never guess what will happen with the plot. It’s turning and twisting and full of life. I only have the pdf version of the trilogy, and since it’s a good read, I think I’m gonna buy it. Anyone wants to read this before buying the hardcopy? Email me at cleffairy@gmail.com  or leave a comment here and I’ll send them to you.

Cleffairy: Don’t kill your imaginations, for you will kill the child in you.

The Neverending Story

I was an early reader. I was taught to read pretty early in life, and having a father who was still a student when he had me, made me a very early student too. My father did not have time to be a full time father, but he tried nevertheless, because I was a very clingy child. I followed him to the library more than I could count for his study sessions.

He couldn’t talk to me in the library, but a child’s mind is a simple thing. Every children wants to be close to their parents… that gives them the sense of security, and back then, even when my father couldn’t play with me or talk to me loudly, I still wanted to tag along to the library with him.

I could still remember that I will sit at one of the old, rickety sofa, in which a librarian would kindly provide me a pillow to prop myself with each time I visit, and read some books while waiting for my father to finish his assignments.

I was a child who was easily fascinated. I think every little children are easily fascinated and dreamed of an adventure in a fantasy land where they’re the hero and whatever they do could determine the fate of the world.

There was a book in particular that I could read over and over again during my visit to the library.

It’s called… The Neverending Story. Written by Michael Ende. (Yes… the book was adapted into a movie. I am talking about THAT Neverending Story). In truth, it was a German tale. The original title for The Neverending Story is ‘Die Unendliche Geschichte’. But the book spin a tale that is so great, that it was translated into many languages for the enjoyment of every single little person who crave for escapism and adventure.

The majority of the story takes place in the parallel world of Fantastica a world being destroyed by the Nothing, which represents and constitutes people’s lack of imagination in the real world.

The first protagonist is a young warrior, who is asked by the Steward of The Empress of Fantastica, to set off and find a way to stop The Nothing. The other protagonist is a boy from the real world, a reader of the novel with the same title, for whom the story gradually becomes more and more realistic.

The story starts off with Bastian who is  sorely neglected by his father and is bullied by his schoolmates. While running from some of them, Bastian bursts into the antique book store.

He picked up the book and examined it from all sides. It was bound in copper-colored silk that shimmered when he moved it about. Leafing through the pages, he saw the book was printed in two colors. There seemed to be no pictures, but there were large, beautiful capital letters at the beginning of the chapters. Examining the binding more closely, he discovered two snakes on it, one light and one dark. They were biting each other’s tail, so forming an oval. And inside the oval, in strangely intricate letters, he saw the title:

The Neverending Story

He can’t buy it, and so he steals the book, hides himself away in the attic of his own school, and settles down to read the same story that we are reading: The Neverending Story.

We’re then transported into the realm of Fantastica, where things are going badly wrong. The realm is being swallowed up, slowly but surely, by advancing puddles of nothingness. The diverse inhabitants of Fantastica send out messengers to their Childlike Empress who lives in the Ivory Tower to see if she can help or advise. Alas, she cannot, it seems, because she is also dying from a mysterious illness. She can only be cured if a human will visit Fantastica and endow her with a new name.

The stage is set. The Childlike Empress sends her hero, a boy named Atreyu, out on a mission to search for just such a human. Atreyu’s task is a difficult one. In fact, he must launch himself off on such a wild and demanding and absorbing adventure that he succeeds in drawing the reader, Bastian Balthazar Bux, back into the realm of Fantastica! But Atreyu does succeed, and Bastian is delighted to find himself suddenly transported into Fantastica.

You might think that that is the end of the story, but in fact it is just the beginning. Because, once there, Bastian Balthazar Bux has such a marvelous time that he does not want to leave. And in the end, he finds that he very nearly can’t leave. He needs all the help he can get from his friends in Fantastica.

Absolutely good read. A book that every child should have the privilege to read. i find it hard to obtain a cheap version of this book, and therefore, I opt for a pdf. copy of this book instead.

Now, if you crave for escapism and a book worthy of your attention this coming weekend, kindly email me for a .pdf copy of this book at cleffairy@gmail.com. If you want to hold the book in your hand, however, kindly head over to your nearest book store, and see if they have this precious book on their shelf.

Cleffairy: If you stop to think about it, you’ll have to admit that all the stories in the world consist essentially of twenty-six letters. The letters are always the same, only the arrangement varies. From letters words are formed, from words sentences, from sentences chapters, and from chapters stories.
