SKMEI 1250 Waterproof Smartwatch Review

I’m not a huge fan of digital watches. Personally, I like those delicate bracelet types of watch that looks like some expensively exquisite jewelries when I put them on, but my husband got me a smartwatch a few months back as a gift. The watch is SKMEI 1250. Have you heard of the brand SKMEI? I’m not sure if you have, but SKMEI is a watch brand that originates from China. SKMEI is not a very famous brand, but it offers a surprisingly wide range of timepieces in their collection like digital watch, sports watch, double watch,Quartz watch and Smartwatch.

What I’ll be sharing with you about is the SKMEI 1250. It’s a bit huge for my wrist but since is a gift from my husband and I didn’t want to make him feel unappreciated, I thought I’d just wear it for a couple of days and put it aside, but I ended up liking it and grew quite attached to it and so, I thought I’d share with you about it.

SKMEI 1250 has a all round dial design and comes in 3 colour variants; Red Gold, Brown gold and all black. It has 22mm wide buckle type plastic belt. My personal opinion: The design is decent. It looks pretty cool somewhat premium. The material used in the SKMEI 1250 is all plastic but it’s quite good quality. The clasp of the watch is made from stainless steel. The SKMEI 1250 smartwatch offers features as below:

*Time

*Date

*Pedometer,

*Calorie counter

*Aims

*Data

*Call Reminder/notification

*Alarm

*Distance

*Bluetooth

*50m waterproof

*Remote Camera

What I like about this watch is that it’s waterproof and surprisingly durable. I’ve worn the watch during my snorkeling trip in Perhentian Island an it was not only submerged for hours but I accidentally hit the watch against a rock too and it still works perfectly fine after that, so I suppose th watch can withstand rugged usage a well.

I have yet to go diving with this watch, so I can’t really tell you how much pressure this watch can withstand, but I’ll be sure to update when I finally do.

Unlike other smartwatches that I’m familiar with, this watch runs on normal watch batteries and there’s no need to charge the watch daily or after certain hours of usage. SKMEI claims that the battery can last up to 45days but I’ve used the watch for more than 90 days and it’s still working accurately as of writing, so I’m guessing that the battery life is way longer than just 45 days.

The SKMEI 1250 has an application support for both Android and Apple devices that enables you to sync your step counts and take photo remotely, just like any other regular smartwatches. The watch will also give a beep when there’s incoming call or messages. The stepcounter of this watch is pretty accurate and I’d never go without the watch during my cardio dance session.

The only disadvantages of SKMEI 1250 is that it doesn’t have sleep monitor or a heart rate monitor. But for a smartwatch that’s under RM40, I think SKMEI 1250 performs really well and it kinda surpassed my initial expectations.

So, will I recommend this watch? Well, yes, definitely recommended, especially for those who loves watersports and have an active lifestyles.

You may check out what else SKMEI have to offer HERE.

Home Remedy for Haze Poisoning

I haven’t been feeling so well since the second week of September 2019; when the haze blew all the way from the burning forests in Indonesia all the way to Malaysia. For readers who are not from Southeast Asia, haze is pretty common here. Indonesia has been burning their forests for decades in the name of agriculture, killing thousands of animals and humans yearly.

The world is generally against terrorism and genocide. But every single giant organizations in the world turn blind eyes to this. Even world leaders kept their mouth shut. Why? If this is not terrorism, I don’t know what is. It’s a shame, really. But I’m not here to talk about the politics of it. I’m here to share with you my personal experience dealing with the haze this year; which is particularly bad.

When the haze started to hit Malaysian shore, I thought I’d survive it without falling seriously sick, as I did the previous years. I took all the necessary precautions, after all. Mask on, staying indoors, limiting outdoor activities, you know, the standard Ministry of Health’s template drill in dealing with haze.

Dealing with the effect of haze this year is particularly different. Instead of the usual breathlessness when the air pollution index shoots up, I felt as if I was poisoned instead. I didn’t notice it at first as the symptoms are really subtle but it got really bad as days gone by. From mere dizziness, I started to vomit acid and white bubbles like nobody’s business. I couldn’t eat or drink and whatever I tried to eat or drink will just be vomited out. Even my worst case of food poisoning in the past seems a breeze in comparison to this. Apart from constantly vomiting white bubbles, I felt dizzy and lost my balance to the point I couldn’t even walk without support. I practically walked like a drunkard for days and nearly collapse at that too.

I sought medical attention of course, but my doctor couldn’t figure out what’s wrong with me and passed it off as gastric and told me to just sleep it off. The doc gave me charcoal pills which had no effects whatsoever in easing my discomforts.

To say that I wasn’t impressed with my ‘diagnosis’ was an understatement. And so I chatted around with friends and apparently they too had similar symptoms since the haze started to thickens. We’re no expert but we can only deduced that while our doctors diagnosed us as having gastric problem, it might not be the case. There’s more to just “gastric”. How can it be? A group of people who are perfectly healthy, took care of diet and whatnot developed gastric out of the blue? We must have inhaled too much air pollutants or accidentally consumed water that has been contaminated with dangerous particles from the haze.

Here’s sharing with you what I did to nurse myself back to health:

1. Drink young coconut juice and eat the flesh after every meal. The coconut juice works like a charm. It gives instant rehydration. Even plain water and oral rehydration salt does not work as well coconut juice.

2. Take only plain and soft food like porridge during meal times.

3. Eat more vegetables and fruits in between meals as snacks. I go for sweet and juicy kind of fruits; watermelon, honeydew melons, hami melons, kiwi, apples, guava, papayas and grapes.

4. Include vegetable soup in every meals.

5. Take yogurt drinks/probiotics. It help in easing the tummy discomfort. In my case, it works way better than the charcoal pills given by doctors.

6. Exclude tea and coffee. They’re diuretic and is no good if you need to keep your body well hydrated.

7. Avoid meat or poultry. They take longer to digest and can easily cause discomfort.

8. Avoid newly caught seafood during haze priod. There are possibilities that they are contaminated with dangerous particles from the haze too.

8. Take shower regularly to maintain optimal body temperature and to avoid getting a fever.

9. Carry mist bottle with me all the time and spray the mist on the face whenever I feel hot or dizzy.

You know, there’s nothing much we can do but detox to stop our body from getting sicker and sicker during haze period . All we can do is detox and nourish our bodies with nutritious food to aid recovery. I’m all for seeking medical attention when you’re sick. But if it doesn’t work, you might want to try what I did to help your body to recuperate.

Naked Restaurant&Bar, Kuala Lumpur

So, I just got back from my camping trip in Perhentian Island and once I touched down KL,the cravings for some good old pizza instantly hit me, and I knew that I have to get some. Having heard about Naked Restaurant &Bar offering some really good pizza from fellow foodies, I knew I had to drop by and try some of their signature pizzas.

Naked Restaurant &Bar is located in Plaza Damas, Taman Sri Hartamas,Kuala Lumpur and goes by quite bold and cheeky theme and tongue in cheek menu. Naked Restaurant&Bar is divided into two sections. The ground floor is served as a bar with exciting cocktails and great music to turn your night alive, while the upper floor focuses on cozy ambience, allowing diners to sit back and enjoy their food.

Interesting deco at Naked Restaurant &Bar. Chic and classy at the same time.

Cheeky and bold statements can be found all over the place.

They provided pizza delivery services for their pizzas as well, and I was told that their delivery service will be made available on Grab Food apps too. Now, that’s what I call convenient, having your pizzas delivered not only to your home, but your current location as well.

Decided to try two of their chef’s recommended; their Naked House Pizza and their classic all time favourite Pepperoni Pizza.

Two types of pizza with a plate of hot wings on the side.

Pepperoni Pizza (RM35). Pepperoni Pizza is probably one of the most common pizza that you can find on the menu in any pizzerias. This is my all time favourite flavour whenever I’m working late and chasing datelines. Loaded with huge pepperoni slices on a thin crust pizza, the Pepperoni Pizza from Naked Restaurant&Bar is simply delicious and perfect for those who wants a fuss-free and classic flavour kind of pizza. Personally speaking, Pepperoni Pizzas are not exactly the kind of pizzas that I would want to eat in a pizzeria, I usually prefer those pizzas with fancy toppings if I dined in a restaurant. This is the kind of ultimate comfort food that I would want to have while wearing my pajamas while binging all night long on Netflix. Good thing they have delivery for this. This is definitely something you would want to include in your “favourite food for delivery” list.

Naked House Pizza (RM45). This is a more sophisticated kind of pizza. Topped with roasted vegetables, goat cheese, roasted chicken breast, pickled jalapenos, red onions, mushrooms, rosemary, whole milk mozzarella, finished with chives and aged balsamic reduction, this thin crusted pizza is great for those who have an adventurous palate. The pizza is practically an explosion of flavours.

So, which one between the two did I like better? Well, if I were to deliver my verdict, both are great but I’d lean more to the Naked House Pizza. The taste was absolutely sensational and dangerous addictive.

Hot wings(RM26). Two types of delicious chicken wings, the spicy and the non spicy. Wild and tame on a single plate. I’m quite adventurous when it comes to food and being a true blue Malaysian, the spicy one won my heart at first taste. Make sure you include this as a side if you decided to order for delivery. They make such a great companion for your pizzas.

Beef Wellington (RM75). A classic steak dish married to fluffy pastry and served with seasonal vegetables a side of fries.

This pastry+steak is something I’d die for over and over again. I kid you not. The steak that was wrapped in the puff pastry was surpassed my expectations. It’s juicy, succulent and naturally flavourful. It was done medium rare while the puff pastry was puffed up delectably with buttery hints. Highly recommended and definitely a must try.

Chocolate Fondant a dessert composed of a small chocolate cake with crunchy rind and chocolaty filling that is served hot with vanilla ice cream on top. This dessert offers a sweet surprise embedded in the heart of it and goes well with a cuppa tea or coffee.

Overall dining experience at Naked Restaurant and Bar is a pleasant one, with their unforgettable gastronomic offerings, I must say. Their food portion are really huge and great for sharing. For what it’s worth, they don’t strip your money nude and most definitely give you what you pay for.

The Best of Comfort Food with Foodpanda

I like working out. My choice of workout? HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and dancing. Cardio dance to be exact. I’m no way a pro or qualified to call myself a gym junkie but working out makes me feel happy, relaxed and accomplished. However, there are times when days are simply tough where I feel kinda down and all I want to do is just slump myself on the couch, turn on Netflix and binge on my favourite series and movies all day long while gobbling down some comfort food. Food has always made me feel that eveything will be all right again, regardless of how bad the situation is.

I know this isn’t the healthiest way to de-stress, but hey,it’s nothing but a rat race and a dog eat dog world out there. I’m definitely entitled to wallow every now and then and indulge in some healing on my old faithful couch, don’t you think? I’m sure I’m not alone some of you sought comfort in food as well every now and then. I bet you even have your very own list of comfort food too. Anyway, speaking of comfort food, one of my all time favourite comfort food is pizzas. I have plenty of favourite pizzerias on my special foodie list, but if I’m binging on Netflix at home, pizza hut definitely tops the list.

Why Pizza Hut? Well, I like their thick, crusty pan pizzas that comes loaded generously with toppings and gooey cheese. Pizzas makes perfect comfort food in my opinion as they are simply filling and easy to eat at just about anywhere.

Below are some of my all time favourite pizzas from Pizza Hut:

Super Supreme Pan Pizza. I’ll usually order this whenever I want to indulge in comfort food but still want to include some veggies in it. Yes. It’s guilt speaking. My consciences sometimes calls for greens in my meals. The Super Supreme Pan Pizza comes loaded with meatloaf slices, pepperoni toppings alongside with black olives, button mushrooms, onions, pineapple chunks and bell peppers.

Triple Chicken Pizzas is my all time favourite whenever I’m feeling like a bit of a carnivore or when I’m chasing deadlines. Topped with plenty of chicken meatloaf, sausages, onions and muhrooms, the Triple Chicken Pizza practically fuel me up throughout those long working nights burning the midnight oil.

Hawaiian Supreme is something I’d order when I can’t decide having something sweet or something savoury. Topped generously with succulent chicken chunks and sweet pineapple slices, the Hawaiian supreme provides the best of both worlds. It’s sweet and savoury at the same time.

I used to call up Pizza Hut to deliver my pizzas but these days I don’t do that anymore.I hate talking on the phone to strangers, and there’s no exception when I needed to order food delivery. These days I simply use Foodpanda service instead. All I need to do is hop over to Foodpanda site via pc or mobile, login into my Foodpanda account, place and order and simply wait for them to deliver my food right to my doorsteps. Foodpanda services is really fast and they have yet to disappoint me. Orders are delivered swiftly and on timely manners. The best part? Sometimes Foodpanda offers discount coupons to be used during checkout. Value for your money. A bonus, definitely. Who wouldn’t like price cuts? I surely do.

If you have yet to check them out, I suggest you to hop over and take a look at the Foodpanda website. They not only have Pizza Hut delivery service listed on their website, but plenty other eateries and F&B establishment to choose from for your gastronomic pleasure. Now, what are you waiting for? Check them out and order away.
