Christmas and the holiday season is coming, but I’ve been bitten by the nasty travel bug. And so, instead of buying Christmas gifts for my friends and loved ones, I ended up shopping for things to bring on my upcoming wanderlust trip instead.

Heyya, come closer. Don’t be scared. I don’t bite…much. I usually just chew on things but mum will always stop me in time before things gets very nasty. My mum’s away on a short vacation and I’m in charge of the blog today. I have something to tell you.
My mum’s a nasty shophaholic and she’s done it again. Take a look. She just made a shopping haul in Althea and here’s part of her loot. According to her…these babies are from Korea and they arrived within 5 working days upon ordering. Not bad, huh? Considering that Korea is miles away from Malaysia and you got to fly over to reach there and all that.
Let’s take a sniff…in case mum bought us some treats. We can always dig in before she comes home and re-wrap the this stuff and pretends nothing happens.
How disappointing.
There’s no treats. Only some stuff that according to mum and I quote, “the things that will make me look like a hotbabe and a sexy bombshell”.
Oh well, at least there’s a party hat and a balloon for us to play with and if we feel like it, we can make it go BooM and KapoW and terrorize mum when she refuse to pay any attention to us.

As someone who travels often and loves to mix business and pleasure whenever I’m on my trips, packing up can be quite a nuisance as I’m pretty vain. And despite it being a business trip, I refuse to let style go flying, even if that means making luggage heavier.
I used to carry almost the whole wardrobe with me whenever I travel, but a friend of mine shared some useful tips on packing up light but still make me look like I’m worth a million dollar.

The trick to traveling light and looking good is not a heavy luggage. I wasn’t very smart and used to stash half of my wardrobe into my luggage whenever I travel, resulting to having to pay more to the airlines and whatnot for excess baggage but little did I know that looking good while you are traveling, be it for business or pleasure lies in how you mix and match your clothing and your accessories. Be creative as you can. Put up some makeup and pair up your accessories like earrings and bangles with plain black shirt and skirt or just a necklace with a stylish summer dress or lunss and I assure you that you will look like a bombshell you really are during your travel. Or if your itinerary includes a romantic dinner, you can go all out and dress up in a custom made bridesmaid dresses. Bridesmaids dresses are not just for weddings. It is undeniable that Instagram is one of the most convenient smartphone application travelers used to record their travel. Now, here’s sharing some tips how to take take instagram worthy pictures during your travel by just using your smart phones:
1. Take pictures horizontally. Always take the shot with the phone in horizontal position. Reason being is to get the most part of the scenery in the original picture and then crop it in square format directly on Instagram so that you have a choice to show what you really want to show your followers.
2. Don’t hesitate to get dirty.’ If you want the best picture of a scenery or a very original shot, look for new angles from the ground, from high, over a canal or a river and go to places where other people don’t go.
3. Turn on the HDR mode when capturing a scene where there are both extremely bright and dark areas.
4. Turn on flash when photographing people in daylight so their faces don’t look too dark.
5. Use Instagram filters. Don’t be afraid to edit your photos. If you know how to post process or edit your photo it’s possible to never take a bad photo.
6. Be creative. Eg: Line up your hand to make it look like you’re holding the building that you are shooting.
7. Clean your smartphone lense. A clean lense ensures clarity and sharpness of your photo.
8. Make effort to dress up. If you are doing OOTD, make sure you choose a dress that befitting the scenery or an outfit that is really striking so that you will look standout in the crowd. Let’s say you want to go all out and do a celebrity look, perhaps you can choose to wear Blake lively dresses or if you’d like to do something more classy and outstanding, go for dresses like Rihanna red carpet dress. And a light makeup to bring up colour to your face wouldn’t bring any harm either.
9. Make use of selfie stick if you are traveling alone and needed a good selfie.
10. Make use of timer to time your shots if you are traveling on your own.

Apart from jungle trekking, the eco-talk by EcoKnights and team building activities in the vicinity of Awana Longhouse and the resort, we were also given a chance to experience how it is like to get involved in a fashion show from A-Z. Well, a fashion show with a twist, that is.
On the first night we were in Awana Longhouse, we were once again ordered to get into our group by our camp commander and were told that there is a competition going on where there will be a fashion show where we have to showcase outfits that is constructed from recyclable materials on the next day. On top of that, we would need to send out representative to model the clothing and present it in a catwalk during judging session.
It was quite a challenge as none of the kids have skills in designing department and I initially thought the result would be quite funny.

My co-host, Kos Serani happens to be a designer and former model, was also a guest jury for the fashion show was invited on stage to catwalk and show how it was really done.

We emerged second place. Not too shabby in my opinion. I think my team worked pretty well together and frankly speaking, I discovered that they are a bunch of the most creative individuals I’ve ever met. They are open to each other’s ideas and have the can do attitude. It was a privilege and a pleasure to work with these bunch of young people. Definitely a refreshing experience in comparison to one of my recent experience before Genting Back to Nature Eco Retreat 2015 event where teamwork was such a horror. It takes only one person to shoot ideas down and the team was dragged down. I would never want to work with such individual again but it would honour me if I could work with the kids I met at Genting Back to Nature Eco Retreat 2015 again.
Normal is boring, but striving to be outstanding does not have to be a chore, at least not when you you know how to pick your wardrobe. When it comes to dressing up, I prefer elegantly classy and demure look over revealing clothing, but if you are looking for something tastefully sexy and different, you might want to consider Homeless Style collection by Qif Alvarez.

I’m a terribly vain person. I appreciate beautiful things in life. This may sound superficial but I like to dress up and feeling good about myself. I like dresses that flatters me and make me stands out in the crowd, and therefore, I appreciate designer’s clothing much more than branded clothing that you can easily obtain in retail stores. There is something about designer’s clothing that brings out such an enigma out of you.
Being in the media industry for almost a decade, I’ve been invited to countless fashion shows, and I enjoyed each and every one of it immensely, especially the presentation of each designer’s masterpiece. In my opinion, all of them are wonderfully unique in their own ways.
Whenever I get invites for fashion shows, I will always be given media seats or VIP seats with unobstructed views. It is an honour and I’ve always been happy with the arrangement but a bigger honour would be the most recent one I’ve been invited to, during MaTic Street Art Festival 2015, where there is a fashion show that features Mr.Planet Malaysia 2016 finalists showcasing street wear collections by four renowned local designers was showcased.
As mentioned earlier, MaTic Street Art Festival 2015 is an effort done by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to introduce street art culture to the public and at the same time, endorse artists from all walks of life as undeniably remarkable talents that should be appreciate by all, be it locally or internationally. Part of the things that MaTic Street Art Festival 2015 offers to the visitors was street fashion.
I’ve been to plenty of fashion show, mostly are classy and glamorous ones but this time around, instead of media or VIP seat, I was given an exclusive insight on what happened behind the scene, at the dressing room before the fashion show commence. Best part of it all? Everything was so pleasing on the eyes. And yes. I was literally talking about the models.
It is indeed an interesting experience, to be able to get an insight of what went on behind the scene before a fashion show and I come to realize that to make even a 15 minutes fashion showcase successful, it takes a lot of efforts and preparation beforehand.
Here’s what actually happens behind the scene. Models don’t always look photo ready for photographers to shoot when they are strutting their stuff on stage. A make up artist always have a hand in that. Here’s MUA Kahoo of Kahoo image, prepping lecturer cum model, Fareez Vincent Amos before the show.
Stripping in and out of clothing. All of these needs to be swiftly done to ensure time is well managed.
Discipline is well enforced and adhered at all times. Instructions by organizers, coaches and designers are followed closely to ensure perfect chereography on stage. What you see here is models who are lining up and listening to instructions on what they are supposed to do and how they should choreograph themselves on stage in order to captivate the audience.
Sometimes, there can be changes on showtimes due to weathers and whatnot, so the models have to keep their patience in check at all times and not throw temper tantrums.
Entertaining adoring fans who swing by is also part of the package, and I’m pleased to report that these models are not just models, but gentlemen in the truest sense as well.
Sure, things can be a little frenzy in the dressing room, but there is always time for fun before business. Here’s the models having some fun group picture time with each other.
Some eye candies for you ladies, and gentlemen too if you swing that way. These men are not only looks but with brains too. Not all of them are full time models. Most of them have day job and are professionals.There’s an editor, doctor, lecturer and university student over here in the picture. Can you make a guess which one is which?
