Makeover Apps to Revolutionize Beauty Industry in Malaysia

Beauty industry in Malaysia is growing like mushrooms after the rain and is increasingly becoming an important sector that is contributing to the country’s revenue. But when supplies is more than demand, that’s where competition started to become aggressively difficult and growth, stagnant. Realizing this, a group of prominent beauty industry leaders in Malaysia decided to join hands together and create a mobile apps known as MAKEOVER in effort to further empower the industry players.

image

MAKEOVER was recently launched in Wisma Selangor Dredging, Kuala Lumpur and was officiated by MAKEOVER co-founding team comprising of Datin Winnie Loo (founder of A Cut Above), Yvone Yap (founder of Sense & Style Beauty Academy), Derick Ooi (Co-Founder & Managing Director of Hairstory International), Jamie Sie (founder of JGA Grooming Academy), Kiro Tan (founder of KOLS) and witnessed by Tan Sri Richard Chiam and Puan Sri Louise. The apps in question is supported by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Go-eCommerce.

image

According to the team of co-founders, the MAKEOVER apps is an innovation that aims to gather beauty industry players in Malaysia under one roof and provide the very best of beauty-related service providers to the consumers. When asked what’s their vision for the said apps, they hope that the apps will not only benefit industry players and encourage further growth and healthy competition in the beauty industry, but help the consumers to make a better choice when it comes to their beauty, wellness and grooming needs as well.

image

The apps will be tentatively available for download by both consumers and industry players on Playstore and Appstore by the end of December 2018.

image

MAKEOVER apps will be offering a listing of beauty and grooming service providers under one roof for consumers to pick from. Among the service providers that MAKEOVER apps users can look forward to are; optometrists, dental care services, manicurists, masseurs, pet groomer, beautician services and of course, makeup artists and stylists.

image

One of the greatest feature MAKEOVER app users can look forward to is the 24 hours booking service straight to your doorsteps, regardless of your location. This is basically a Grab apps for the beauty industry where instead of delivering a driver to you, it will deliver various kinds of beauty and grooming service provider to your doorsteps instead.

The MAKEOVER apps will definitely be a game changer and shape the future of the beauty industry in Malaysia.

In depth review on the apps will be featured soon. In the meantime, do check the links below for more news and quick updates on MAKEOVER apps updates:

How to Be A KPop Oppa with Althea Milk Peel Mask

Some cruel people on the social media are telling me that I’m turning my son into a homosexual boy as I’ve been encouraging him to dress well and been messaging me and telling me to stop letting him use skincare items and such as it’s ‘the women thing’, but I will not have any of those trash-talk. As far as I’m concerned, skincare items are not just for women. It’s for men too, and it will do our boys good if we can teach them on how to groom themselves well. It does wonder not only on their appearance but confidence as well.I believe that making efforts to look good, neat and presentable is a form of respect not only to people around us, but to ourselves as well. Our bodies are a gift from God, and therefore we should treat it as such.

image

Anyway, speaking of skincare items, here’s sharing with all of you our most recent favourite skincare item; Althea Milk Peel Mask.

image

Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask is the first AHA + BHA based peeling cream mask.

image

Pretty simple to use with only a quick 30-60 seconds of application needed. Definitely great for those who are busy and can’t really be bothered with an elaborated skincare routine.

image

Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask is really fun to use with all the bubbles that forms. Some may find the entire experience abit ticklish as the bubbles started to grow. But that’s where the fun is. It makes you smile a little and perhaps, elicit a little giggle.

image

Closer look at the foamy milky bubbles. The texture of the bubbles are really soft and creamy. My son says that it’s similar to whip cream in texture.

image

Rinsing it off leaves you with a softer and a more moisturized skin with soothingly fresh sensation. While it says that it’s suitable for all skin types, I personally feel that those with oily and sensitive skin benefit from Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask the most as it helps to reduce greasiness and is really gentle on the skin.

image

Here’s Adrian Oppa, all dressed up after using Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask, ready to win some hearts. What do you think? A yay or nay?

Wanna give this a try and look like a Kpop Oppa or a Hallyu star? Check https://my.althea.kr/. Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask is exclusively available there on Althea.

Sweetheart Look with Ephyra Lips

I’m not much a beauty blogger. If you ask me to review beauty products the way other beauty bloggers do, I think my write-up will be rather unnatural and weird. If anything, I’m just an ordinary woman who is vain and like to look beautiful and loves to share my beauty findings with other women like me.

image

Speaking of sharing beauty findings, I’ve recently received this Ephyra Lips as a complimentary gift for my Ephyra Collagen purchase. I was a little surprised of course, as I wasn’t expecting anything for my purchase but I was happy nevertheless as although I’m not much a makeup user, but I’m pretty much a lipstick addict. I cannot resist a good lipstick, especially those in classy red colour. Some of my friends even nicknamed me as the Red Lips Queen as I have the tendency to wear red shade lipsticks whenever I go.

As this is a complimentary gift, the shade was random and instead of my usual red, I was gifted with a pink shade one instead. This is Ephyra Lips in Pink Peony.

Now, I seriously don’t know what to expect when I received it. At first glance, the colour seems so pastel that it can be compared to pastel water colours that my son has been using for his art classes. I’ve never made a point to wear pink shades before as most lipsticks that are pink in shades makes me look really weird. Initially I thought this Ephyra Lips in Pink Peony will not suit me well, but I tried it on nevertheless.

image

Much to my surprise, the Ephyra Lips in Pink Peony gives me a pretty much youthful effect and makes me look much younger than my age.

image

Can you honestly say that this picture makes me look as if I’m already in my 30s? I guess you can’t, can you? Okay, I guess I’ll have to credit the Ephyra Collagen for me looking younger than my real age but that’s beside the point. I won’t be talking about that here. My point is that the colour is devastingly beautiful and make me look sweet and innocent and it’s by far the best matte cream lipstick that I’ve ever worn. I’ll tell you why:

*Ephyra Lips glided on easily onto the lips. Application is not messy.
*The colour is striking but not over the top that it makes you look weird or unnatural.
*It does not stain easily
*Long lasting. It can last more than 8 hours without touching up, I kid you not. The colour really stays on, even when you’re having your meals.
*Despite the fact that the colour stays on for hours and hours, it’s strangely easy to removed. I don’t even need a makeup remover to remove it. All I need is to wipe it away with a wet wipe or tissue once and it’ll be gone.
*It is not drying on the lips, even after long hours on the lips. Surprisingly moisturising and if I must testify, I swear that the Ephyra Lips helps to improve my lips condition as well. I used to have dry and chapped lips but after about 2 weeks of using this, that problems seems to be magically gone and the best part is that now my lips are much softer to touch.

Overall, I’m really happy with Ephyra Lips and I guess I’ll hunt down other colours to try soon enough to play around with other looks to suit my mood and my clothings. I’m looking forward to try those red and striking colours. Last check on their site they have more than 8 shades of Ephyra Lips to choose from and they have sales every now and then. I personally recommend Ephyra Lips, so if you are interested to try, you might want to hop over to these links below:

Where to Buy Health Shoes for Students: Sunfeet International Rehab Centre

School term for the year 2018 is finally lowering it’s curtain and coming to an end. School children nationwide in Malaysia are all excited with their school breaks and holiday fun, but for us parents, it’s a little bit of a nightmare. School holidays are merely intermission for us before the school reopens and there are alot of things for us to do, especially helping to prepare for our kids’ school necessities before the new term commences.

I’m not sure how it’s like for other parents but as a working mum who is constantly busy, time is an essence and I need to plan way ahead to avoid last minute disasters of not having everything prepared. I usually buy school uniforms and whatnot for my son as soon as the school holiday starts, and here’s sharing with you a great place for you to buy shoes for your children; Sunfeet International Rehab Centre.

image

Located in Petaling Jaya, Sunfeet International Rehab Centre has come a really long way in the orthotics and prosthetic industry. At Sunfeet, it’s not just about selling health shoes but also help you to analyze your feet so that you will be able to pick the right footwear for you.

image

As of writing, they are having the Back to School promo and I thought it’s high time that I’d drop by to check out what they have to offer.

image

Here’s my son, checking out the school shoes on their rack.

image

Some of the collection that’s part of the Back to School promo. They’re not only smart in design but keeps your kids’ feet comfy all day long.

image

Free feet scanning and consultation is given here and therefore, we decided to go on ahead with the scanning before picking out the shoes for the boy.

image

During the consultation session with the experts at Sunfeet International Rehab Centre, we’re informed of the common problems with our feet.

image

Here’s the expert at Sunfeet International Rehab Centre scanning my son’s feet to help him determine the type of shoes I should be buying for him to ensure maximum comfort all day long.

image

Getting consultation. I didn’t really pay much attention then as I was too excited with all the shoes displayed over there and I was a bit distracted but here’s sharing with you some of the common problems that we usually faced that are related to our feet

1. Flat feet (our feet are flat and has no proper arch for support)
2. Nunion (excess bulding at the side of your big toe)
3. Callous (thick dead skin cells under the base of your feet)
4. High arch
5. Intoe-ing (pigeon legs- walking with both legs pointing inwards)
6. Toe walking (tip toe when you walk)
7. Bowlegs (bending outward of the legs from the knees down)

image

We were informed that my son’s feet are apparently a little bit on the flat side and extra support is needed.

image

And so here’s the school shoes that were suggested to us.

image

Dr Edmund Lee, the owner and the in-house doctor at Sunfeet International Rehab Centre offered tips on choosing the right footwear during our visit and here’s sharing his tips with all of you here

1. Buy shoes in the evening because our feet expands the most at that time

2. Suitable shoes are shoes that can be inserted two fingers behind the shoes and the front of the shoe. This is to allow for a space for our feet growth.

3. Try both side of the shoes and walk with them to make sure they are comfortable.

image

A pic with Dr.Edmund Lee before we left the centre.

Feet are the basis for healthy body formation. If you choose the wrong footwear that does not support your feet, it will affect your well being and you’ll have tendency for knee pain, unhealthy spine, waist and many more. Therefore, picking a pair of shoes that provides proper support is very important, especially for our children as to encourage their healthy growth.

I always want the best for my son. I’m sure all of you want the best for your children too, especially during their growing up years. And if you are looking for school shoes, or any casual shoes for both yourselves and your children to wear that’s not only fashionable but also promotes overall comfort and well being, you might want to head over to Sunfeet International Rehabilitation Centre and check things out.

Althea Angel’s Pick: Althea Petal Velvet Set

I haven’t been shopping much at Althea after my little birthday shopping as the haul have been keeping me well stocked with all my K-Beauty needs.

image

I wasn’t expecting anything from Althea at the moment and so I was really surprised these were suddenly sent to me to try.

image

Althea’s exclusive Petal Velvet Powder alongside with the newly released Petal Velvet Sunaway sunscreen.

image

The powder comes in 3 variant of colours to suit different tone of skin colour: Translucent, Warm Beige and Pink Lavender. Now, I’ve seen these countlessly in Althea, but I have yet to make a purchase as I’m honestly not a huge fan of loose powder. I’ve tried loose powder from plenty of well known brands but haven’t had much luck with any loose powder that I’ve tried before. They don’t really flatter me and usually turns my makeup cakey after awhile. Not only that, I felt that most of them are hard to blend evenly on my skin and pretty drying too and in all honesty, I’m really skeptical with these range of loose powder from Althea. But then again, it wouldn’t be fair to pass judgment before trying them out, and so I did.

image

Petal Velvet Powder: Translucent. At first glance, this version of Petal Velvet Powder looks like just like your ordinary baby powder. The texture is surprisingly fine. Perhaps much finer than your regular baby powder. The powder is scented, but not overly overwhelming, so I suppose I can say that I kinda like it. It helps to control the oiliness on the face while allowing the skin to breathe. But don’t expect it to provide you the coverage a regular foundation would. It does not really cover the flaws on the face.

image

Petal Velvet Powder: Warm Beige. Similar to the translucent version, only in different tone. Similar to the translucent version, this is also scented and have very fine texture. It helps to control the oiliness well while allowing the skin to breathe. But unlike the translucent version, the Warm Beige tone does somewhat cover some minor blemishes on my skin. So I guess it have everything to do with the colour. Although this too does not really provide proper coverage like a regular foundation would, it will still give you a decent coverage. If you would want to go for a no-makeup look, this would definitely be something you’d like to go with.

image

Petal Velvet Powder: Lavender Pink. Similar to the Translucent and the Warm Beige version, the texture is really fine and gives out a subtle lavender scent. Again, the powder does not provide coverage like a foundation would, but this version gives a surprising radiant glow in comparison to it’s sisters’ counterpart. In all honesty, I like this one more than the other two.

image

The new Petal Velvet Sunaway is a new addition to the Althea exclusive family.

image

Petal Velvet Sunaway comes with SPF50 and it claimed to be able to help control sebum whils maintaining skin moisture.

image

To be honest I was really surprised when I squirted the bottle. The Petal Velvet Sunaway have surprisingly watery texture with strong rosie scent and it immediately reminds me of the rose water my late grandmother used to prepare from scratch for us granddaughters. Initially, I did not know what to expect of it. Not sure if I should like it as I was expecting the Petal Velvet Sunaway to have thicker and creamy texture, but upon usage, I decided not to detest it, as it works wonder on the skin. The skin feels smoother and no white casts appears afterwards like most sunscreens. It also helps to control excess oil on the skin and this is doubtlessly something you would like to use for a long day out in the sun. The Petal Velvet Sunaway can also be used if you would like a no-makeup look as it does somewhat cover light flaws on the skin. This may not be a love at first sight for me, but it does grow on me.

image

Here’s wearing the Petal Velvet Sunaway and Petal Velvet Powder Lavender Pink with a swipe of my favourite matte lipstick. Say, I look pretty sweet, no?

Althea Angel’s Pick: Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel and Mist

image

I have long heard about Nature Republic’s products. People have been raving about their Aloe Vera based products, and when I saw them being sold for such an unbelievably affordable price in Althea, I thought I’ll give them a shot.

image

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel 300ml (RM13.00). I have terribly dry skin and the soothing aloe vera gel from Nature Republic does live up to my expectations and not not disappoint. The multi purpose gels are not only used as a moisturizer or as an after-sun care item, but I took it to the next level by applying them on my hair as a hair mask and using them before and after I blow dry my hair. Works really great and my hair feels much softer after every use. Apart from that, the gel can be used after shaving or waxing too. I like the fact that the gel smells really pleasant and if I were to rate this, I’d give it a five star for this and a I would definitely order this again.

image

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist 150ml (RM16.00). This is basically the Nature Republic’s aloe vera gel in mist version. Makes a really good companion on dry and hot days when you need to keep your skin hydrated without much hassle.

My only grouse is that I wish they sell these in smaller bottles so that I can bring them without worrying that it will take a lot of space in my handbag.

For products that is sold at such an affordable price, (I got both of the product for less than RM30) they sure packed quite a punch and gives great value for your money. If you are looking for hydrating products or an after-sun care items without spending too much, then these are highly recommended.

The mist and gel can be bought from Althea at a fairly cheaper price than other online portal. More info about it, visit HERE

Althea Angel’s Pick: Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid

image

I don’t really do much makeups but
I have weakness for all things that helps me to colour my lips. And so, I got myself not one but three Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid from Althea.

image

I always loved products from Innisfree. Not only their packaging are clean and pretty, but most of their items are made from natural ingredients from Jeju Island as well. And a bonus? They usually smell really good too. These Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid are no exception.

image

Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid 3.5g- 02 Coral Pink Double Shot (RM37.00)

image

Here’s my Coral Pink Double Shot look. The colour is not overly bright and I like how it brightens my feature with a sweet and youthful look.

image

Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid 3.5g- 06 Espresso Red (RM37.00)

image

Espresso Red look is the kind of colour that you would want to pick when you’re feeling bold and daring or simply want to look classy like the late Marilyn Monroe. The red tone of the lip matte is rather fierce and striking I must say.

image

Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid 3.5g- 09 Capuccino Pink (RM37.00)

image

And last but not least, the Capuccino Pink. The colour is quite neutral and muted in my opinion, and will pair well just about any style or look that you decide to go with. Will serve well as your daily lipstick, I reckon.

Overall I am happy with all the Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid that I currently have. They smell good, very easy to apply, not drying on the lips and pretty long lasting too. No re-application needed after long hours as the colour remains striking even then. My only concern is that they do leave stains easily and this is not the kind of thing you’d want to wear if you’re in a discreet relationship. They’ll leave marks for sure.

The Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid can be bought from Althea. More info about it, visit HERE

My K-Beauty Birthday Gifts from Althea

Birthdays are not always a big thing for me. Although there are some intimate birthday moments with friends on social media who sent me birthday greetings (probably because they were prompted to do so by Facebook reminders and whatnot) there have never been a big birthday celebrations or parties hosted by me or for me. Nobody asks me out for a birthday treat and unless I asked for it, there will be no birthday gifts from my family and my spouse either.

image

Now, I usually buy myself my own birthday gifts to commemorate the day I was born, but this year is a bit different. I received this from Althea as my birthday present.

image

These two pink boxes are courtesy of Althea Korea as I am a part of their ambassadorship program known as the Althea Angels.

image

I got to choose RM400 worth of products sold in Althea as my birthday gifts and here’s sharing with you my birthday gifts from Althea Korea, the best online K-beauty shopping portal. Here’s sharing with you my loots.

Innisfree

image

I always loved products from Innisfree. Not only their packaging are clean and pretty, but most of their items are made from natural ingredients from Jeju Island as well. And a bonus? They usually smell really good too. I got myself two types of items by Innisfree at Althea; their liquid lipstick and shampoo.

Assorted Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid

image

I don’t really do much makeups but
I have weakness for all things that helps me to colour my lips.

image

And so, I got myself not one but three Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid. And no, I don’t feel guilty for doing that.

image

Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid 3.5g- 02 Coral Pink Double Shot (RM37.00)

image

Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid 3.5g- 06 Espresso Red (RM37.00)

image

Innisfree Real Fit Matte Liquid 3.5g- 09 Capuccino Pink (RM37.00)

image

Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo 300ml (RM25.00). The shampoo is gives a really refreshing and clean feel on the scalp. Highly recommended to be used during your morning shower or after a sweaty workout. It will rid of all unpleasant smell in your hair in a jiffy.

image

Innisfree Camellia Essential Shampoo 300ml (RM26.00). My favourite ‘before-sleep’ shampoo where I will usually use it to shampoo my hair after a long day at work. The scent gives me really soothing sensation that helps to lull me to sleep.

Nature Republic

image

I have long heard about Nature Republic’s products. People have been raving about their Aloe Vera based products, and so I thought I’ll give them a shot.

image

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel 300ml (RM13.00). The soothing aloe vera gel from Nature Republic does live up to my expectations and not not disappoint. The multi purpose gels are used as a moisturizer or as an after-sun care item, but I took it to the next level by applying them on my hair as a hair mask. Works really great and my hair feels much softer after every use. I like the fact that the gel smells really wonderful too. Five star for this one, and a I would definitely order this again.

image

Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist 150ml (RM16.00). This is basically the Nature Republic’s aloe vera gel in mist version. Makes a really good companion on dry and hot days when you need to keep your skin hydrated. My only grouse is that I wish they sell these in smaller bottles so that I can bring them without worrying that it will take a lot of space in my handbag.

image

Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Shampoo 300ml (RM38.00). I have yet to try this shampoo, so I can’t really comment much about it. But I did took a sniff, and it smell pleasant enough and I can’t wait for my regular shampoo to finish so that I can finally use this without guilt.

Laneige

image

I ran out of BB cream, and so I thought I’d give the BB Cushion from Laneige a try. Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control 30g 2IN1 Beige (RM118). At first glance, the product would seems a little on the pricey side, but trust me, it’s really worth it. Not only it comes with a refill, but it gives a good coverage as well. This is all you need if you want to look flawlessly beautiful like a Hallyu star without spending much efforts.

Cleansing Tissues

I can’t live without cleansing tissues. And after scouring Althea for some cleansing tissues, I decided to grab the cleansing tissue from Prreti.

image

Prreti Perfect Clean Cleansing Tissues 30pcs (RM5.00). Comes really cheap at just RM5.00 per pack of 30 pcs. Works really well too. It helps me to scrub off my makeup really well and gives me the clean and refreshing feel after each usage.

Facial Mask

image

I thought of pampering my face a little and so, I decided to grab some mask. I bought em on a whim, though as their packaging says “Don’t Worry”. I know, I know. Of all the things. But hey, I need to worry less and I think this will serve a good reminder as I use them.

image

YET Don’t Worry Mask 23ml- Nutrition (RM2.00). Picked this one because it claimed that it will help to nourish the skin. Yet to use it so I can’t comment much.

image

YET Don’t Worry Mask 23ml- Wrinkle (RM2.00). Picked this one simply because it says that it will help to reduce fine line and wrinkles. No lady wants wrinkles on her face, so I’m sold. Yet to use it though, so I can’t say much about this either.

Etude House

I’ve was a loyal Etude House user until the nearest Etude House outlet near my place was closed down. And so when I saw them listed in Althea, I decided to check them out.

image

My Beauty Tool Lovely Etti Standing Hair Brush (RM23.00). I spotted this really lovely hair brush from Etude House and it was a love at first sight. Comes with a mirror attached and doubles as a vanity mirror if you place it standing. Not only it helps to detangle your hair but makes a really lovely gifts for girls of all age too. I absolutely love this, and will definitely treasure this piece of hair brush.

In all, I am really happy with my birthday haul. I’ll be reviewing my hauls individually soon, so keep your eyes peeled for it. Til then, goodbye for now. And oh, don’t forget to hop over to Althea to check out what’s new there.

PS: Thank you so much for the birthday gifts you sent me, Althea. You have no idea how much this means to me.

Glam it Up From as Low as RM1 with Lazada this 10.10

Dear ladies, do you remember your first ‘beauty moment’? You know, the moment when you first realized the painful reality that beauty does not exactly lies in the eyes of the beholder but it takes quite a lot effort and investments before you can actually look beautiful and presentable? People who knows me and have seen me, be it on social media does not lack compliments for me when it comes to my appearance.

image

They called me beautiful, cute, adorable, lovely, you name it. But the truth is, I was not always an eye candy. I was a very late bloomer.

image

I remember my first beauty moment. Or should I say, my beauty awakening. It was quite a slap on my face as I seriously did not care for my appearance until I was 29 years old. I looked ugly and I grew up being called names. I had low self esteem and of course, when I got married and had a child of my own, I looked like the trash the cat dragged in with baggy clothes that does not really fit me and I wear those ugly glasses that made me look much older than my age.

You see, I was raised in a family that brainwashed me that all the skincare and cosmetics are going to spoil my skin or spoil my hair. I was also told that wearing contact lenses will untimely ruin my eyesight. My husband on the other hand did not really care for how I looked like as long as I cooked and clean and take care of our son.

In all honesty, I did not care if I did not look presentable in public at all, until my lack of grooming slowly destroys my self confidence. People looked down on me and did not take me seriously, simply because I did not ‘stand out in the crowd’. People took credit for my work, simply because I did not look somewhat pretty and it is not believable that someone who looks haggard actually had talents or any brain that functions for that matter. Ugly and talented does not seems to equate well, I suppose.

My husband’s friends on the other hand, does not think I suit him and some even went as far as encouraging him to have affair with some ladies that they know as they think I’m not good enough for him, and he should only use me as a convenience to take care of our son.

I was furious when I learned all these
of course, and I knew I had to make an effort to at least look presentable before things get out of hand, and gradually, I came out from the safety of my cocoon and nobody would ever dare to call me names or even dare to call me ugly.

The process was not easy nor was friendly on my savings, I must say. I did not transformed into the ‘beautiful and confident woman’ I am today overnight. I had to get rid of all my baggy clothes and buy those that fits and accentuate my figure. I had to picked the right contact lenses so that I wouldn’t look like someone’s grandmother with my thick glasses. I had to get my hair styled and I had to invest in makeup and skincare. It was all very expensive and I lost count on how much I spent on all those just so that I can look presentable.

I know some of you ladies are like what I used to be too. Stuck in a situation where you are judged for your appearance. You want to changed; look stylish, look beautiful and enjoy being adored instead of being sneered at, but it is simply not affordable for you to do so.

image

Fret not. Korean Oppa in The Making with Althea

I have a son and no daughter. And so they say when you have a son, you don’t have to worry about him that much in comparison to a daughter, especially when it comes to grooming. But then again, I don’t think gender matters much when it comes to self grooming. Whether it is a son or daughter you have, you ought to teach them to at least try to groom themselves well so that they have good grooming habit and takes good care of themselves.

image

My son is now a teenage boy, and puberty is kicking in and I thought it’s about time that I introduce him to some self grooming items. And so, we got this; a boxful of stuff from Althea, the world’s best place to get all your K-beauty and skincare needs.

image

Here’s the content of the box. Some grooming supplies.

image

What I got for the boy is pretty much basic and great for teenagers.

image

Oatmeal Therapy Cleansing Tissue.

image

Online reviews stated that this product is mainly used as a makeup remover wipe, but I was drawn to this product by the ingredients though.

image
It claims to be all natural and all that and so I thought it will be great for my boy to use to wipe his constantly oily face.

image

This works like magic. It doesn’t sting or irritate his skin. Not only it cleansed very well but kept the skin moisturized as well. There were no chemical smell. Instead, it smell like something citrusy. Really pleasant to use and will definitely restock for myself to use as well.

image

Next is the 24K Gold Snail Soothing Gel from Royal Skin. They are also offering the Aloe Vera version of it, but what attracted me when I saw the product is the 24K Gold and Snail. Gold and snail mucin? Plus, it is a multi purpose soothing gel that can be used for the entire body. So I thought, hey, why not give this a try?

image

The 24K Gold Snail Soothing Gel from Royal Skin does not disappoint. It soothes skin irritations, especially after a long day under the sun. It really works wonder not only on the skin, but great as hair gel and hair mask as well. Trust me. It’s worth every single cent spent on this. Bonus? It smells really good too. Highly recommended. Great for both adult and teenagers. I initially bought this for my son to use but I keep stealing them to use for myself. Guess this will be on our restock list soon enough.

Aura Radiance BB Foundation Cream by Nella. My son needs some serious coverage for his acne.

image
I really wish we can get rid of his pimples but the stubborn stuff really just won’t go away, regardless of the products used. I guess it’s just hormone speaking and so, since we can’t really get rid of them all, why not try to at least cover them up a lil bit while trying to reduce the faint scars caused by acne? The least I can do for him is try to make the pimples less visible, so I got him this; Aura Radiance BB Foundation Cream by Nella. The Aura Radiance BB Foundation Cream by Nella is not too expensive and contains SPF 37.

image

Here’s the before picture where he haven’t applied the BB cream yet.

image

And here’s the after picture. I got to say that Aura Radiance BB Foundation Cream by Nella provided quite a good coverage. I guess, I approve this one too and this will be a permanent item for me to check on my next purchase.

Fleurissant Lip Glow by Glamfox is a sheer balm, colour changing by temperature that enhances your natural lip color while moisturizing and protecting lips with a really nice fruity scent.

image

Features clear jelly lipstick with real flower and 24k gold flakes. Isn’t it pretty? It is almost too beautiful to use.

image

All we need to do is just apply it on the lips like you’d do a normal lipstick or lipbalm. The product gives the lips a unique shade of pink based on temperature and PH of your lips. Warmer lips will have deeper colour therefore everyone has his or her own exclusive shades of pink lip colour. I really like this product. Not only it gives the lips natural, healthy looking colour but it helps to moisturized the lips as well.

image

Tony Moly Delight Lip Tint. I got this for myself, actually, and not for my son.

image

But I did not like the coverage and the result it gave me. The tint was hard to apply and drying on my lips and makes my lips flaky. I tought of just tossing it aside, but the boy wanted to try it out, and so I just let him test it out.

image

Nope. While the colour turns out quite okay, the tint is not for me and not for my son either. It’s too drying on our lips, but that’s probably just us, so don’t let us stop you from buying if you’d like to have a grab on this.

Our loot from Althea costs us about RM100. To be honest, the products that we got are quite friendly on the pocket and overall, I am satisfied with the order that I made. We love all the K-Beauty and Ski care products that we got from Althea,(Minus the Tony Moly tint, that is). Will definitely hunt for more stuff so that I can turn the boy into a Korean Oppa lookalike and myself a hotbabe Noona. That said, Althea is love. Althea, saranghae. Kamsahamida for all the lovely K-Beauty and Skincare items.
