How to Print Business Cards Online

Let’s admit it. It is 2019 and we are in the era where social media platforms like Facecook, Instagram, LinkIn and many more plays an important role when it comes to getting businesses connected with their prospect.

But as much as you use social media to connect your business to your prospects and leads, you will still need the old school way of self-introductory when you meet your prospects in a professional setting in real life. Believe it or not, a well-designed business card helps make a lasting good impression. Not only business cards are important, but Booklets and Flyers are important as well if you intend to host a business event and seminar.

Always remember that Business Cards, Booklets and Flyers make you look professional and credible.

There are plenty of sites where you can Print Business Cards online, but how do you go about it? Here’s sharing with you some tips on how to print business cards online:

1. Business Cards Size
Business Cards Size is a very important thing you need to consider before you print them online. Business card is a tangible and lasting representation of you. You need to carefully consider how it looks and feels. You can create good-looking business cards yourself by using business card tools on online website that offers business card printing services. Always pick business card size that is easy to store so that it will not be thrown away afterwards. The same goes if you want to Print Flyers as well.

2. Business Cards Designs

Most online printing services allows you to customize your own business cards, booklets and Flyer size by using their template. Remember to start designing your card with a template and customize what it includes based on the information you want to convey. If you are a physical store, you might want to include a street address, or maybe include social media accounts as well. Most services let you add or remove text boxes to your preference, so make use of that. You might want to add your logo on the on the cards too, but if you don’t have any pre-designed logo and whatnot, simply purchase those sold on the sites.

3. Printing Price

Card quality is about more than just weight and thickness. You also pay for textures. Linen, gloss, matte, and soft-touch are common choices offered on those online printing sites. All has their own appeal and characteristics.
Better type of papers for your cards usually costs more. If you are on a budget, simply choose the basic ones. They are mostly passable and quality-wise, still good. Make use of offers on those sites if any. Some offers cheaper price for more amount of cards that you order.

4. One Side Printing or Two Sides?

Printing on both sides of the cards can costs more, if you are on a budget, just opt for one side, otherwise, pick two sides as you can include more information about yourselves or the business that you are representing. If you want to Print Booklets, the same is applied too. The more pages you print for your booklet might cost more, so plan your content wisely so that the information you want to convey can be delivered effectively without costing more.

5. Delivery Time

Express delivery usually costs more, so do plan ahead on the timing if you need to use the business cards/booklets/flyers urgently. Last minute printing requests is a no no. There can be glitches where logistic is concerned due to bad weathers and stuff and you might not received your items in time.

As mentioned earlier in this article, there are plenty of sites that offers online printing services and it can be quite overwhelming to pick the online printing service that suits your needs. If you are a first timer, you might want to use www.gogoprint.com services. The site is easy to navigate and is user friendly. I hope the tips given is useful for you. Til next time, I wish you luck in all your business endevours.

Jalan Jalan Japan Opens at M3 Mall Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur

Love shopping and retail therapy but not really into bursting your budget? Need to get stuff for your home but household items are usually sold at a very expensive price in the regular malls? Well fret not. There are plenty of places in Klang Valley where you can actually shop without breaking your bank account, but my favourite got to be Jalan Jalan Japan Preloved outlet. As of writing, there are three Jalan Jalan Japan outlets in Malaysia. The first one is in One City Mall while another one is in 1Shamelin Mall and Seremban respectively. And soon, there will be another one opening on 18th May 2018 at M3 Mall Taman Melati, Kuala Lumpur. As suggested by it’s namesake, these outlets are selling pre-loved items from Japan. Since the Jalan Japan outlets are all very huge, shopping can be quite overwhelming to some, and so, I’ll be sharing with all of you here some useful hacks and tips on how to shop at Jalan Jalan Japan and how to stretch your Ringgit while shopping at Jalan Jalan Japan and make the most out of your money.

image

Now, there are plenty of treasures here in Jalan Jalan Japan. Their most sought after preloved items are usually the preloved clothes.

image

Clothing are segregrated by gender. Eg: Men and Women as well as Children section. You can find all sorts of clothings over here; casual wear, formal wear and even winter wear with the pricetags of RM10 and above. If you are patient enough to sift through the aisle, you may also occasionally spot clothes that are going dirt cheap at just RM5. The key here is keen eyes and patience.

image

Most of the clothes are still in good condition, but you need to remember that this is a preloved shop, and therefore they do not allow any exchange after purchase. So, please try them on before deciding to buy any articles of clothing here at Jalan Jalan Japan.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan offers dirt cheap Yukata and Kimonos. If you are looking for Japanese traditional clothings to wear to Bon Odori festival or something but is on a tight budget, you may want to hunt them down at Jalan Jalan Japan. At just RM20-RM40, you can get a set of Yukata or Kimono. Obi and accessories like slippers and pouches are sold seperately though, so you’ll have to be creative a little bit and mix and match the outfits and the accessories.

image

Apart from clothings, hats are also spotted at Jalan Jalan Japan. At just about RM10 per piece, you can get really high quality ones. They are perfect for beach or summer vacation.

image

Ladies, especially the bag addicts will definitely appreciate this place. There are assortments of bags sold here at Jalan Jalan Japan.

image

My advice to you when walking down the bag aisle is that you walk slowly and inspect the bags closely and see what that might suit you fancy. There are alot of rare treasure here that are sold at very cheap price. This unique Bali style rattan bag for example was sold at just RM10. A real steal, I must say. Should you buy this elsewhere, it can easily cost you RM80 and above for a piece of bag that is even smaller than this one. Assortment of bags eg: handbags, backpacks, slingbags etc are selling for as low as RM10. Some of these bags are branded pre-loved bags that are still in a tip-top condition. Definitely worth your money, I assure you that.

image

Affordable kitchenwares are sold in abundance here in Jalan Jalan Japan, but do make sure they’re a suitable type and size for your stove before you decided to bring them home. Japanese lacquer plates and bowls as well as bento boxes aplenty. Their price starts from as low as RM3. You might want to take a look at this section if you are looking for some new permanent residence for your kitchen and dining table. A gentle reminder for Muslims and strict Vegetarians, these cookwares and dining utensils might have been used to serve all sort of meats and non-Halal items. If you are a devout believers, do perform ‘samak’ or cleansing ritual prior usage.

image

Hobby and outdoor section is definitely something you must check out if you’re into sports and outdoor stuffs.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan offers plenty of sports and fitness items over here. Yoga and fitness mat goes at dirt cheap price over here, and I even spotted a high quality Yoga mat at just RM10, which can easily cost up to RM70 elsewhere.

image

If you just started your fitness journey and needed some fitness equipments for your workout, this is definitely the place you would want to go.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan may not be a furniture shop, but they do offers some useful preloved household furnitures. The choice might be limited in comparison to specialty furniture shops, but they do offer some interesting pieces of furniture at ridiculously cheap price. Some coffee table and study table costs less than RM80. Even vanity table with lovely mirror on it costs merely RM70 over here. They are still in very good condition too, mind you. I got my classy looking multi-purpose foldable racks from Jalan Jalan Japan M3 Mall for just RM10. I nearly cry out in happiness when I saw that, I kid you not.

image

Wide range of babies and children’s toys, gadgets and accessories are available for your pickings. Collectibles from famous anime like Dragonball, One Piece and Gundam are available as well. If you are a collector, be sure to check out the toy section. Some of the toys have choking hazards and whatnot, so please lick up those that’s suitable for your children’s age only.

image

Soft toys offers plenty of branded preloved items, going at just RM10 and above.

image

This rare Meowth soft toy from Pokemon anime costs just RM10, among many other of his ‘friends’. This can easily cost you RM100 and above elsewhere. If you are a fan of branded soft toys, please make sure you go for a little dive at the soft toy section. You won’t regret spending time doing some digging over here, I assure you.

image

Check out my loot at Jalan Jalan Japan M3 Mall. I usually hunt down clothings and bags whenever I go for a shopping spree at Jalan Jalan Japan, but due to my previous retail theraphy, my wardrobe is already overflowing with clothings and accessories and therefore, I decided to buy other stuff instead this time.

image

My loot consists of Yoga set, Bento boxes, sleeping bags, teapot and a wooden multipurpose rack. My total damage was just RM121.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan is a real hot spot for bargain hunters, especially on weekends and the queue can be quite long.To make payment, simply line up, be patient and don’t cut queue.

image

It would be great if you have calculated your spendings beforehand when you were sorting out the items that you wanted and prepare exact change. It’ll help to speed up the payment process and queus will noticebly move along faster if everyone practices it.

image

Jalan Jalan Japan restocks their items really often, so do check them often too. You’ll discover that there’s always different things sitting on the rack during your visits. No matter what is your budget, I honestly think that Jalan Jalan Japan have something to offer for you. Their pre-loved items came straight from Japan and are second to none.

Cleaning Up Made Easy with RAYCOP

If you have been following me on my social media, you’d realize by now that the #KonMari a.k.a Marie Kondo wave has taken me by the storm since last year. No idea what #KonMari is? Well, you may look her up on the Internet. She’s basically a cleaning up and a decluttering guru who inspire many around the globe to spark joy through cleaning up and decluttering. I am one of those who was inspired by Marie Kondo. The Konmari method is seriously lifechanging. I used to hate staying at home as it used to be super cluttered and messy but now I feel more at ease and happy now that everything at home is properly organized since I got rid of the things that doesn’t spark joy anymore.

Apart from decluttering and organizing, I also have been on religiously maintaining order at home by keeping things clean. I hate to do things manually, and therefore, I’m constantly on the lookout for gadgets that will make my spring-cleaning missions a breeze. And here’s sharing with you an awesome cleaning up gadget; RAYCOP.

image

This is basically an allergen vaccuum machine that helps to suck dust from fabrics.

image

Here’s a closer look at the machine. RAYCOP allergen vacuums had a HEPA (High-Efficiency Particular Air) filter fitted with a fine mesh to trap 99.9% of the dust mite matter, dirt, pollen and pet dander that settle on our fabric surfaces such as mattress, pillows, sofa and our children’s toys.

image

The machine is very easy to use and even children can handle it with ease. All you need to do is just switch it on and run it through like a regular vaccuum cleaner on any fabric surfaces that you’d like to clean.

image

RAYCOP uses a powerful UV lamp with a wavelength calibrated to effectively eliminate over 99% of bacteria from fabric surfaces throughout our home. The UV light is electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light. With the UV light, it also alters the DNA of dust mite eggs and significantly reduces egg hatch rates. RAYCOP had the combination of suction and vibration along with the UV light which is proven to eliminate 3 times more allergens than a regular vacuum. RAYCOP has pulsating pads to loosen and lift particles and suction calibrated to be powerful enough to effectively remove debris and allergens from fabric surfaces yet is gentle enough to safely use on delicate fabrics without tugging or trapping the fabric. The particles also pass through a dual filtration system where larger particles are trapped in the dust box filter and microscopic particles are trapped in the HEPA filter so they can’t be released back into the air.

image

The HEPA filter traps the particles without releasing them back into the air like the exhaust of a regular vacuum does. These particles that are removed are common irritants that affects the health of our family members.

image

Here’s yours truly using RAYCOP. It takes me just about 3 minutes to vacuum my son’s mattress.

image

Check this out. These are the dusts from my son’s mattress. How horrifying. Can you see the difference between the clean filter on the left and the dirty one on the right? I shudder whenever I think that my son have been sleeping with these.

image

Getting rid of the dusts that has been collected in the filter is really easy.

image

All you need to do is just run the filter through tap water and brush it a little with a small brush, and leave it to dry before using it again.

image

Yes, I must say that using this machine definitely sparks joy. What’s not to like about it? It not only helps me save time cleaning up, but keeps my family’s health in check too; with my husband having lesser sinus problem in the morning and my son no longer complains of itchy skin whenever he sleeps in. This is without a doubt a keeper and I positively recommend this as your spring-cleaning assistant.

Tati Skincare Regains Consumers’ Trust After Winning Court Battle Against Malaysian Blogger

If you are a beauty blogger and have been very much involved in the beauty industry scene in Malaysia, you might have heard about the quite talked about lawsuit case where a local beauty/skincare brand; Tati Skincare filed a lawsuit against a Malaysian blogger for defamation and slander after suffering the lost of consumers trust as a result of a series of defamatory articles posted by a well known Malaysian blogger.

image

I have been following the case with interest since last year and I’m glad to report that I was informed last week of the update on the case where Tati Skincare finally won the case and called for a press conference following the triumph of Tati Skincare vs.Blogger case to clear the air and to reassure the consumers that their products are safe to use. Tati Skincare has been in the market for almost 4 years since its launch in 2015. Click HERE to see the video of the press conference.

image

To date, Tati Skincare products are also marketed abroad such in Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. Tati Skincare has produced a couple of product lines including cosmetics, whitening cream, lipstick, mascara and compact powder.

image

According to Tati Skincare company lawyer, En. Md Faiez Md Suhaimi, his client suffered a huge loss and decided to file a lawsuit after discovering that the blogger had been continuously producing defamatory articles on Tati Skincare products.

“The Tati Skincare has referred this to us from January 2017 after discovering a negative blog entry entry on lekatlekit.com on Tati Skincare products. This negative writing continues from January 2017 to April 2017 on the blogger’s blog and Facebook’s statuses. There are a lot of things that are not true and include defamatory elements in all the writings and comments that Tati Skincare decided to file defamation suit against the blogger in May 2017,” Mr. Md Faiez Md Suhaimi explains.

After a full trial, the High Court of Kota Bharu had made a decision on Nov 22, 2018, alleging there was indeed a defamatory writings made against the founders of Tati Skincare, Pn. Norhayati Hasyima Muhammad and Norasyikin Muhammad. The findings from these results are:

*The statement says that Tati Skincare products are ‘produk timbang kilo’.

*Founder of Tati Skincare, Pn. Norhayati Hasyima Muhammad (plaintiff) went to perform Umrah pilrimage in Mecca by using the money earned from the sales of Tati Skincare products that damaged the users’ skin

*All Tati Skincare products are toxic

*The plaintiff’s pictures were also spread on social media and is linked to writing that contains defamation articles.

Mr. Md Faiez Md Suhaimi in his statement also stressed that not all Tati Skincare products were included in the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) list as a product that contains harmful substances and netizens and users should not stereotyped and blindly deliver judgement.

According to one of the co-founders of Tati Skincare, Pn. Norasyikin Muhamad, the purpose of the press conference was also to explain the slander related to Tati Skincare’s products in social media that affected the brand as well as eroding the consumer’s trust and she hoped hoped that consumers would be more confident in using Tati Skincare products hereafter.

At the press conference, Pn. Norasyikin Muhammad and other founders also expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the decision made by the Kota Bharu High Court. She also hoped that this decision will help the consumers to regain trust in their brand and Tati Skincare’s management provides a channel for users to channel any questions or inquiries on their website and on the social media platforms eg: Facebook and Instagram.

Anyway, for what it’s worth, this case has been an interesting eye-opener and I’m really glad that the case has finally been put to rest and we are now enlightened of the real situation.

As a writer, blogger and a beauty product reviewer, I have always been careful when it comes to reviewing and writing beauty products. In my humble opinion, we bloggers plays an important role in helping the consumers decide on what they’ll be using, and therefore, the reviews must be really honest and not contain any forms of personal attacks. I usually will write on whether I like the product or not and let my readers decide on their own whether the products in question is suitable for them or not instead of forcing them to think certain products is good or bad. Let’s face the reality. Every individual have different needs and what’s suitable for one person might not be suitable for others and it’s really unfair to generalize and assume things that might not be true.

Wall Décor Ideas Suitable For Any Small Space

Decorating smaller spaces is often more difficult that decorating large spaces. When you have less square footage (such as one of those apartments in sengkang), you have less liberty with your décor choices. What you put into your space has to be carefully curated, and this can often make it feel like your options are limited. While there is not much you can do to add more space to your home, there are plenty of ways to make your apartment more put-together. The key is, of course, to take advantage of the largest open spaces you have in your home – your walls.

image

Take a few tips from these ideas to imbibe your empty walls with life, moving them from cold and sterile to warm and personal.

Opt for large scale art

Just because you have a small space does not mean that things have to be proportionately small as well. An oversize painting or photograph that takes up an entire wall to itself is sure to command attention and also set the tone and mood in your small space. The options are endless: if your space is more minimal try a black-and-white piece, or add more color to it with a vibrant and abstract piece. A very large piece of artwork on your walls is sure to make a bold statement. It also helps focus the eye and pinpoints it on one spot in your space, taking the focus off the size of your space and onto the artwork.

Curate gallery walls

A gallery wall is your home solution to an art gallery. Nothing adds personality to your space quite like a gallery wall. You can use it to incorporate more color, add more cohesiveness, or just jazz up the quirkiness of your space. If you have a collection of artwork and photographs, consider hanging them up altogether on one large expansive wall (or in this case, one small expansive wall). You can also add in some other wall hangings and ephemera. Cohesive frames can tie in different pieces of art. However, if you’d rather have a more mix-and-match style, you can bring in an array of ornate variations in frames to really spice things up.

Showcase fabrics

If traditional artwork is not your thing, you can also consider hanging up a beautiful and expansive tapestry or even an antique rug. Not only does this add color and pattern to your space, it lends a sense of softness to your space as well. The option of hanging fabrics is more flexible than framed paintings. You can just select from fabrics that you already have. Got some great vintage scarves or exotic looking textiles? No problem. Just frame them and let them take center stage on your walls. Here’s a bonus as well: they’re much easier to maneuver than framed paintings, which can come in handy when the time comes for you to move to your next home.

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Mirrors are your best friend if you live in small spaces. They make your small space feel larger and brighter by reflecting light around. They also open up your space by deceiving your eye into thinking that there is more space than there actually is. A large ornate mirror can work equally as well as displaying several smaller pieces a-la salon style. They can easily be made the focal point of any room: place them above mantels for a grand effect, or lean them against an empty wall opposite a window to reflect natural light around.

Paint a mural

A wall-expansive mural can help transport you from your small apartment to a more exciting place. If you don’t have a view from your windows, you can just incorporate a breathtaking view on your walls in substitution! If you have a creative hand, hand-paint it yourself to add a more personal touch to your space. Otherwise, you could go the more convenient route and choose a ready-made wall covering. Both options will be sure to make an everlasting impact.

Hang plates

Again, the key idea is to source from what is already in your collection. If you have a collection of fine china, why keep it in the cabinet when you can show it off? Invest in some wire plate hangers in order to display your favorite plates and serving platters. This can be a great choice for dining room décor. Although, do remember that you need to secure them safely or risk them falling off of your walls (and breaking).

Have a wall garden

Plants don’t have to always be siting on surfaces or on the windowsill. If you love the look of greenery, then why not incorporate it into your space in the form of a wall garden? Consider hanging (or even wall-mounting) plants and planters to bring in a bit of nature to your space. This surely helps bring in an organic touch as well as breathe in some life (literally) to your home and your walls.

Add sculptural sconces

In a smaller space, multi-tasking furniture and décor is always a plus. Sculptural sconces no only add an extra source of ambient lighting without taking up valuable surface space, they can easily double as a wall sculpture. An eye-catching sconce design is sure to do double-duty to bring in not only light but also style.

Resorts World Genting Joined Hands with Tengku Puan Pahang to Empower Inmates in Bentong Prison Through ‘Beauty Behind the Wall’ Programme

I’ve been to plenty of places in Malaysia. And often, I took the less traveled road to broaden my horizon on life’s perspective. But if there’s one place in Malaysia that I thought that I will never step into is the prison. Prison is a place where criminals are locked up. It’s the place for sinners, full of convicts. Who would want to be there? At least, I wouldn’t and I wouldn’t want to have anything to do with anything related to prison at all. It’s indeed a scary place.

image

But by fate, or chance, I was invited to Penjara Bentong by Resorts World Genting for their CSR programme “Beauty Behind the Wall” and I thought, perhaps, it’s time to get a glimpse on how things are really like in prison.

image

I said yes to the invitation and I have to say, I was a little intimidated upon arrival in Penjara Bentong.

image

Everything seems to be scary with all the security checks, but in all honesty once I stepped inside and was surrounded by the high walls, I couldn’t help but marveled at the surroundings.

image

The place is clean and tranquil. The prison is nothing like what the Hollywood blockbuster movies and novels had me believes. It is not filled with angry and viscious prisoners who will jump on you and attack you. It’s nothing like that at all, but instead, it feels more like a school, or rather a place fo empowerment and rehab. The only difference that prison makes from other educational institution is that they practised maximum security and is heavily guarded. The interactions between the men and women in uniforms with the inmates were polite and civil and can be likened to interactions between teachers and students.

image

Now, back to the programme, “Beauty Behind the Wall”, saw Resorts World Genting culinary maestros joined hands with Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah to train the inmates in upgrading their culinary skills. For those who are not familar with Her Highness Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, you might want to know that Her Highess is well noted for her passion in culinary endeavour and is an excellent chef in her own rights. Also present during the programme was Prison Department Pahang State Director Datuk Ab Basir Mohamad and Vice President of Resorts Communication&Public Relations of Resorts World Genting, Ms. Katherine Chew.

image

Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and Resorts World Genting Executive Chef Alex Vitalise at the prison facility, cooking up a storm and doing live demo for the female inmates. Focusing on educating female inmates and female staff of Bentong Prison, the programme covered issues such as food hygiene, kitchen management, culinary technology, dietary nutrition, recipe commercialisation and food industry opportunities, all in the name of ensuring that the inmates have opportunities to support themselves once released. The Bentong Prison prides itself on its Pastry Workshop that supplies the products produced by the inmates to external parties such as donuts, ‘muruku’ and cookies that channels the income back to them.

image

Female inmates at Bentong Prison are learning to cook special fusion dishes under the royal patronage of Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah. The main ingredients that are used as the base for all the dishes during the lesson are assam pedas and rendang paste. The pastes are specially made from Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah’s personal recipe that’s published in Her Highness’ cookbook, “Air Tangan Tengku Puan Pahang”.

image

The assam pedas paste was used as a base for dishes such as Assam Pedas Pasta, Cod Fish Asam Pedas, while the rendang paste was used as sauces and condiment for burgers and canapes. And here’s sharing with you some of the dishes that were featured during the demo.

Assorted appetizers topped with rendang and sambal hitam petai pastes.

image

Her Highness had had also taught the female inmates how to make cookies earlier prior to the programme.

image

These cookies are being sold by the prison.

Addressing those who were present during the meaningful event, Her Highness said the inmates were taught to cook as cooking is a life skill that they can use to create immediate income and support themselves when they are released and Her Highness is happy that Resorts World Genting is taking the lead in helping to empower these women.

” Everyone can make mistakes. But what is important is that we learned from our mistakes, and that society gives us an opportunity to prove that. I do not believe that we should assign blame. My role is to help these women re-enter society with the right kind of attitude that will allow them to live a healthy, productive life beyond these walls. Food has always brought Malaysians together. It seems appropriate to have a channel for these women to learn to cook so that they can have a productive life when they leave. I want to help these women get a second chance,” she said.

image

Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and the Penjara Bentong inmates after the programme.

My visit to Penjara Bentong for the
“Beauty Behind the Wall” programme was not only inspiring and empowering, but humbling as well. I can now look at prisons and the convicts in a completely different light. I used to think that prisons merely functioned to execute punishments for convicts, but in most cases, prisons are not just a place to execute punishment but an educational institution that is emphasized on rehabilitiation; in which the prisons actually helped people to start anew after making mistakes. Indeed, who doesn’t make mistakes? To err is human. Nobody escapes from making mistakes every now and then, and just because some are caught making mistakes to the point they have to be punished by law, does not mean that they should be shunned by the society when they are making effort to change and start a new life, and I’m glad that I’m given a chance to change my mindset and perception on both prison and the prisoners.

It’s All About Me and Domino’s Pizza

image

Most of you defined me by my marriage. You know me as someone’s wife and someone’s mother. But am I just that? I have no doubt that at times, some of you ask yourselves that question too. As we grow older, people defined us merely by what we do for a living and our status. But we are more than that. We are not just someone’s daughter, someone’s brother or sister, someone’s wife, someone’s mother. We are all unique individuals and we shouldn’t forget that. I like a lot of things in life. I have immense passion for writing; especially writing novels and I very much rather you recognize me as an author more than anything else. I like watching dramas and anime. I very much rather discuss that with those who shared the same interest with me. I like shopping and doing outdoor activities. I love traveling and going for eco-escapade and I very much rather you know me as a traveler and a nature lover. I am abit of a glutton and I love food very much, and I certainly love to enjoy great food with good companions.

Our spouse and children became the center of our world when we got married. This fact is true, especially for ladies. But let’s not forget that our life is not just about other people. It’s about us too. This life is ours to live and we should celebrate our individuality instead of burying it alive. I know some of us feel jaded in life on how people defined us and we try to live up to their expectations to the point that we are overly harsh to ourselves that we stopped being kind to ourselves. I think this is not right. I believe it is important to reward ourselves for all the little achievements that we achieved as if we don’t, nobody else would.

image

One of the way for me to reward myself for the little successes in my life or to encourage myself to keep on going in the face of adversities and the challenges I’m facing is to treat myself to good food.

image

One of my favourite reward to myself is pizza. I have a couple of my all time favourite pizzeria but if there’s one that’s regularly on top of my list since my teenage years is Domino’s. They are not only affordable but easy to order as well. You can chopse to either call them up and have the pizzas delivered or simply order the pizzas online.

Domino’s has been accompanying me throughout the most parts of my life. I have them whenever I need to burn the midnight oil and work late to meet datelines. They served as fuel to keep me going. I had Domino’s pizzas during the times of darkness and during the times of heartbreak and they gave me such comfort. I had Domino’s pizza to commemorate little success or important events in my life as well. Funny how a simple and humble food played such an important role in my life.

That said, my point is that while it is great that we give unconditional love to our children and our spouse, but let’s not forget that loving ourselves a little bit more does not mean that we love our loved ones less. Do things that you like. Stop just existing and live life to the fullest. Have a better day today than tomorrow.

Weird write up? Well, all I want to say is that you should reward yourselves every now and then. Celebrate your worth as an individual. Because life is all about you and you are definitely worth it. Go ahead. Have a pizza or two. At Domino’s, it’s all about you too. Hop over to https://www.dominos.com.my/itsallaboutyou/ and treat yourselves to some pizzas and don’t forget to share with me your Domino’s pizza stories on social media with the hashtag #DominosMY and #ItsAllAboutYou. Remember, life is all about you and you are worth it.

Bangsawan Dendam Laksamana, An Action Packed Malay Opera

Love fine arts and theatre performances? I sure do. There’s something really captivating about watching live performance on stage in comparison to watching movies in the cinema. Seeing the actors and actresses performed and express themselves using intense body language to express things is truly fascinating to me. It takes high level of acting skills not to screw up in front of the audience. Unlike regular movies, theatre actors and actresses does not have any second or third chance whenever they make a mistake. They only have one chance to impress the audience, and that’s it.

Being a fan of theatre performance, I’m a little picky on what I decided to watch when it comes to theatre performances and I will only watch those with only good ratings and reviews, and here’s one that I can say is pretty amazing; Bangsawan Dendam Laksamana.

This play is a part of JERAYAWARA BANGSAWAN DENDAM LAKSAMANA series.

Bangsawan Dendam Laksamana is a musical theatre that was chosen based on the story behind the history of Sultan Mahmud Mangkat Dijulang, which was based on a book Masyhor Malaya by Shahrom Husain in 1978.

image

The protagonist is a loyal admiral who would sacrifice everything for his homeland while the main antagonist was a merciless and an arrogant Sultan who is easily swayed by the words of his corrupt official.

image

As the story unfolds, theatre-goers were transported back in time to the Malay Malaccan Sultanate and and straight into the Sultan’s court where all the palace intrigue is shown in such exquisite details. The language used was the formal language used in the palace during the olden days in Tanah Melayu and I thought that’s one of the most beautiful thing ever. Dances and fight scenes were choreographed in such an intricate manner as well. Apart from that, the acting was really raw with emotions, and you can’t help but emphatize with the main characters and detest the villains in the story. Everything was perfectly executed and overall, it’s really a play worth watching for the second time.

JERAYAWARA BANGSAWAN DENDAM LAKSAMANA will also be performed in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Kedah and Perak and during the tour, there will also be related workshops, forums and exhibitions related to the play. Do keep your eyes peeled should this interest you.

You may watch the admiral take his revenge at DEWAN TENGKU ABDUL RAHMAN, Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC), KUALA LUMPUR from 2hb Nov 2018 – 11hb Nov 2018 if you are located in Kuala Lumpur.

The Advantage of Self Hosting Your Blog

image

Are you a blogger or a website owner? Do you use free hosting or paid hosting? After surveying on my social media, I noticed that more than half of the respondents are using free hosting or free blogging/website platforms like WordPress.org or Blogger.com.

I have been blogging for more than 13 years and it comes quite a surprise to me that most bloggers and content creators that I know do not realize that by using free platforms, the blog and the account contents does not actually belongs to them at all, but belongs to the platform itself as it can be wiped out anytime without prior notice by service provider should you violate any terms and condition eg: using the blogs commercially, placing inappropriate ads, paid contents etc. I’ve seen plenty of blogs that’s been deleted or wiped out without prior notice because they have violated the terms and condition.

Here’s sharing with you the advantage of self-hosting your blog:

1. Extra security and full control over your blog/site, including in its layout,
2. Making money while blogging is easier as you are not tied up to the advertising restrictions imposed by free blogging platforms.
3. Contents will not be wiped out without notice and it actually belongs to you.
4. Space is upgradable
5. You can fully customize your blog as when you host your blog in your own hosting, you can install custom themes to brand your blog as you will have complete access to your backend files, which allows you to make any necessary code changes.
6.Using a third-party host usually costs only a few dollars per month.
7. Looks more professional as self-hosting allows you to use the domain name of your choice.
8. More searchable on search engines as you can customize your ‘search engine optimization’ (SEO)
9. Auto ping to social media can be done directly from the blog and therefore it can boost the visitors’ traffic and therefore increase the blog’s value.
10. Backup can be done easily to the cloud storage.

I opt to self host my blog(s) to allow myself the flexibility and the extra security, but self hosting can be very intimidating to first-timers. Should you need info or tips on how to start hosting your own blogs or sites, you might want to hop over HERE to help you decide.
