Do you smoke? Well, I don’t know if you smoke or not, but hell, I don’t smoke. In fact, I HATE smokers, but then again, I ended up being married to a smoker anyway. I have no idea what’s wrong with law of attraction. It must be somewhat screwed up where the smoking universe is concerned cuz I while I hate smokers and their nasty huff-puffing habit, I still ended up married to one.
Darn. I thought not liking something will keep them away from you instead of attracting them to you? Oh well, perhaps like most laws in the world, law of attraction have loopholes too, and attracting smokers is one of those loopholes.
Anyway, I was saying, I don’t really like people who smoke in my presence, but being married to a smoker means that huffing the smoke when my husband is smoking is rather inevitable. Since I couldn’t really get my husband to ditch his nasty habit, I kinda turn a blind eye to it until one fine day, I discovered that I don’t have to actually inhale those nasty smelling cigarettes smell whenever he’s smoking in the car or in the house anymore, as long as he’s smoking e cigaret instead of a traditional ciggs.
I was skeptical about E-ciggs at first, but I’m happy to report that the stuff works wonder. It’s an electronic, digitalized version alternative of cigarettes. You don’t have to actually light up your cigarettes with a lighter to start smoking as it’s battery operated.
Heavy smokers might feel apprehensive about trying the E- ciggarettes, but trust me, it is enough to satiate a hardcore smoker’s craving for nicotine and yet friendly for those non-smokers as it doesn’t stink, and the ‘smokes’ are actually vaporized air. The best part? You can choose any flavours that you like for the cigarettes. Yup, that’s right…they have a variety of flavoring liquids for e-cigarettes on sale, and that includes chocolates, coffee, vanilla and many more.
Electronic cigarette like ego t works wonder. If you’re a smoker, and wants to smoke indoors without making everyone else around you suffer the horrible smoke that you’re puffing, you might want to try them out for a change.
I have a bit of a fetish for colours and artful design, and I’m not ashamed to admit that, and so, when I saw that they are giving free henna drawing during my recent fam trip with my boys to Petrosains, Sultan of Science exhibition, I couldn’t help myself and had to have the henna art drawn on my hand.
Just take a look at the intricate design. I may not be into manicure and pedicure, but boy, I just love henna on my hands. Isn’t it lovely? I think it’s really beautifully drawn. π
Cleffairy: I’m lovin it!
How many of you here have young children and babies? I’m not sure how many of you here are parents with younger children and babies, but I’m a mother of one young child. As some of you probably know, the boy is a special need child and he drives me crazy most of the time, especially during car rides.
He doesn’t sit still and more often than not his father and I got to remind him to sit still and don’t move around as it’s not only dangerous for him, but for the rest of us too should the driver’s concentration goes AWOL. As a safety precaution, we always have the child safety lock in the car on, just in case the boy decides to fool around with the door or something.
Anyway, these days, my husband had started to carpool with his colleagues, and considering how hassle it would be if the child-lock is on, he stopped using the child lock once in a while. I for one, was not aware about it until I discovered that the boy could open the door from the inside one fine day. I was really shocked, but luckily no harm was done and we locked it up back immediately when we discovered that the boy could actually open the door from the inside.
Now… that was really dangerous, but then again, it could happen again as carpooling is rather unavoidable where my husband is concerned, and I can’t expect him to remember to use the child lock each and every time he fetch me and the boy. And my husband can’t exactly expect me to remember to ask him whether or not the child lock is on or not either, as it’s been years since we’re together and I never had to ask that question until recently, and the issue would most probably slip my mind rather than not.
I suppose it’s time to change parenting method, considering that at times, we not only uses our own car, but move around by using taxi and other people’s car too, which, unlike our own that’s secured with child lock most of the time, might not necessarily have child lock .
I think it’s time to let the boy know how dangerous it is to play with the door since he is old enough to reason with now. But I’m not exactly sure how to deliver the message to the boy. So, if you’re a parent with young children and always travel with your kids by car, what can you suggest to me?
Cleffairy: Have problem? Find solution. No point pointing fingers and expect that there would be any changes.
I made a point to make half boiled eggs for my son to dip with toasts every now and then these days. He enjoyed the simple breakfast very much that sometimes he’d ask for it a couple of times a week. And so, a couple of days ago, when my husband was home, I made extras so that he could have the same breakfast too.
Unfortunately for both of us, I was not aware that half boiled eggs could make someone’s stomach cramp badly. My bad. The man already told me not to give him any breakfast cuz he couldn’t really take breakfast these days and will have terrible stomach ache if he does. I suppose breakfasts does not fit his tummy or his schedule anymore, and packed lunch or brunch later in the day is a better alternative as the stomach is much more settled by then.
I bet some people cannot take breakfasts too, especially half boiled eggs cuz their stomachs are rather sensitive and they are liable to get awful cramps. So ladies, take note. Half boiled eggs are not for everyone. They could be very bad, in fact. I’m just so glad that my son did not have any diarrhea or worst, food poisoning for eating the half boiled eggs that I made, or I’ll be having tough time settling him down for the rest of the day!
Cleffairy: Well, huge lesson learned.ΓΒ Half boiled eggs are not for everyone. Perhaps something milder and more sophisticated like minced meat porridge with salted eggs or fried rice would be much kinder on the stomach for people with sensitive stomach.
Remember I blogged about wanting to further my studies and I’ve been going around looking for the perfect place to do my post-grad and I was really looking forward to check out the new INTI International College Subang?
Well, I managed to go and check them out during their INTI Edge Festival. The newly revamped campus is vibrant but not too big. Perfect for those who are looking for an intimate community based place to study.
Was really pleased to discover first hand that they prepared ample parking space with proper lighting and security for their staff and students. Brownie point one, in my opinion. One can never be too careful these days and security is something that I would really consider if I were to study in this place.
Being a Friday and a working day, I arrived quite late to sample most of the things that they have to offer during the INTI Edge Festival; you know, their fashion show, their international food tasting session etc, but thankfully, I was just in time for their Youtube Celebrity Gathering where famous localΓΒ Youtube celebrity like Jinnyboy, The Ming Ting, The Grimfilm and many more gathers and perform their never seen before song and vid.
The gathering was held in the new auditorium that was equipped with seats that comes with its own power outlet and foldable table. It was sufficiently air-conditioned and to say that it was hi-tech is an understatement. The clear projector along with awesome sound system was something to be praised. If a student is to attend a lecture and whatnot here, they’d probably be hearing the lecturer speaking with absolute clarity. No students will be missing any notes either, even if their laptop batteries are running low as they can simply plug the adapter to the chair and whatever that was shown on the screen was very clear. Talk about HD quality. If only my alma mater’s lecture hall was as well equipped as this, I wouldn’t have to suffer copying notes from my classmates back then when I was doing my diploma.
π What a shame!
Anyway, here’s Jenn performing with her ukulele. π Sorry for the nasty video quality. I’m just an amateur and I merely shot it with my phone before uploading it to Youtube. Maybe if I were to further my studies there in INTI as a Mass Communication or a Broadcasting student, they’d be teaching me on how to shoot and edit better videos with limited resources instead. π
Apart from live performance and video presentation by the Youtube celebrities, there was also a Q&A session where visitors and students alike are encouraged to ask questions. I was really pleased to note that the session was really inspiring and plenty of students are interested in getting as creative and as bold and daring as the Youtubers themselves. I suppose this is INTI’s way of encouraging their students in doing something creative and different instead of just going by the books and merely cram for exam every semester. Seeing all these makes me really happy. I mean, this is just something that I want and need. If I were to further my study, I wouldn’t want to just get my nose stuck in the book. I want to be inspired and encouraged to do something really innovative instead of being told that as long as I score in my exam, I’ll do fine. I admit that excelling academically is important if you’re to survive climbing the corporate ladder, but being industrially competent is just as crucial, especially if you’re in the creative industry like me.
Anyway, a handful of us were given a chance to exclusively tour around the campus by Mr. Dominic Szambowski.
Plenty of spacious and air-conditioned classroom for student’s studying pleasure.
Spotted a swimming pool in the vicinity of the college while we were given a tour around the college. LOL. Isn’t that a sight for sore eyes? Well, at least for me. I’m a swimmer, and I definitely think that this is another brownie point for INTI International College Subang. π I can really imagine going for a swim before going back home after a long day in college.
The CAD Lab was well equipped with powerful machines, and I bet architecture and engineering students will benefit from this lab the most.
The Mac Lab was pretty impressive.
Loads of new powerful Mac and my hands was practically itching to turn one of them on to try them out, but I refrained, of course.
I wish I could fiddle around with them for a while, but I guess they are off-limits and for students only, huh? π I suppose if I wanna use the Macs, I’d have to enroll as a student, after all.
The climax of the INTI Edge Festival was of course the dance party, but what caught my attention was not the loud, blasting music but the graffiti art display.
The art display must have been some of the students’ submission for the Graffiti Art Competition that I’ve missed earlier.
Anyway, the new INTI International College Subang does not disappoint and the INTI Edge Festival was worth going. I may have missed some activities in the itinerary like magic show, international gastronomic adventure, art competition, etc, but personally, I understood that the festival was aimed to introduce interested parties to experience the college culture through various activities that is related through various courses; eg: international food tasting/show- Hospitality Course, Youtube celebrity gathering Mass comm/ Broadcasting, Graffiti art competition- Art course, fashion show- Fashion Design Course. A wonderful way to showcase not only their newly upgraded and developed campus, but also to give a first hand taste of INTI college’s culture to those who are interested in furthering their studies there, I must say.
I’m awfully tempted to enroll and further my studies there myself as they do offer the course that I’m interested in, which is Mass Communication, but of course, there’s still a lot of things for me to consider such as financial support as well as accommodation and whatnot if I were to further my studies there. Time, would be something scarce and have to be well-managed too if I were to balance my family life and student life.
But lucky me, they have night and weekend class. Another plus point though I know that it won’t be easy for me second time around. I’m no longer single and I have my husband and son to consider. Necessary arrangements must be made if I were to really consider enrolling. I have yet to survey the area and get my hands on their prospectus and have a look at their subjects and the credit hours that I must fulfill. High time I go and get one before I make any decision, I suppose? π
Anyway, if you are interested in furthering your studies here in INTI International College Subang, you may visit www.newinti.edu.my for more info.
How do you exactly get over a bad breakup? Well, I’m not qualified to advise those who are going through a bad breakup, but a good friend from school called me up yesterday and told me that things did not work out between her and her long term boyfriend (again!) and she was feeling all gloomy about it because her relative is getting married soon and she does not have a date to bring to the reception. I’m not really sure how to advise her, as she sounded really heartbroken when she spoke to me. She was practically sobbing away.
I married my first love, and I suppose I can say that I’ve been spared from horrendous episodes of breakups with my boyfriend(s), and not knowing how to advise people who are going through such a difficult phase, I usually tell people who confided in me to:
Keep the good memories but forget the bad ones
Keep yourself occupied so that you won’t think too much.
Make new memories every day. Go to places that you never go before, eat things that you never eat with the person that you’re breaking up with before, buy things that you’ve never bought with the person that you’re breaking up before, and live your life as you want to. Meet new people, travel to new places, etc.
Stop stalking their Facebook wall or Twitter
Stop calling or miss-calling
Stop texting
Not sure if the tips will work, but I believe that everyone deserves a second chance at love, and it is up to you on whether to seize it or not. Sure, you can sit there and be upset about it for months or even years and waste away but the fact will remain the same and you’ll never be happy if you don’t let go of the bad relationship. Why torture yourself when you can have a second chance at happiness? We only live once, so we should seize whatever chance and opportunities with both hands.
I believe in second chance, regardless how bad a long term relationship or even marriage turns out to be. Everyone deserves a second chance at happiness, so don’t let one or two bad relationship eats your youth away.
Cleffairy: Everyone deserves a second chance at happiness.
The neighbour upstairs have been drilling their wall for God knows how many days now, and I ‘ve come to notice that this long crack appeared beautifully after a loud bang this morning. (See vid) I’m not very sure if it’s my imagination, but the crack seems to grow longer than when I first noticed it.
Looking at this long crack on the wall made me wonder if I should start to concern myself with safety issue? Or should I just go back to sleep and pretend that I did not see this? Not to sound paranoid or anything, but people are known to be buried alive in collapsed apartments…though cases like that are much rarer than dying in an auto accidents or something. π
So, back to sleep, or out of the place? I don’t know!
